-Draco's pov-"And who's this?" My father asked, the front door to the manor open only ajar as he stood in the small gap to pause us from walking in any further.
I looked down at my hand in hers, slightly nervous to introduce her. I took a deep breath before looking at her. She spoke a lot about being nervous to meet my parents so I made sure to be the one to make her feel comfortable.
"Hailey, Hailey Riddle. You've met her before but she was a lot younger. Now, may we finally come in?" I spoke with a fake confidence, looking up at him. He opened the door some more, the light from the hallway flooding out into the gloomy night air. A figure stepped closer behind my father and I sooner realized it was my mother.
"Oh, Hailey!" My mother stepped closer and wrapped her arms around Hailey, taking her into a warm embrace before myself that seemed to last forever. After small talk with Hailey, she moved closer and took me into her arms, messing with my hair. "You've grown taller, Draco. You're soon to outgrowing your father." I gave her a small smile and nodded, agreeing sarcastically.
My mother took Hailey's luggage before hurrying upstairs with my father. I turned to her and gently snaked my arm around her waist, pulling her closer.
"I told you it would go perfectly fine. Merlin, you worry too much." I chuckled and moved a hand to her cheek, my thumb softly stroking over it before stopping and pressing it onto her bottom lip.
"And now it's just you and me, the entire summer together to fill." She finished, pressing her lips to mine.
In an instant, my eyes opened. Just a dream, all over again. There's really something so different about her. We're complete opposites but opposites attract, right? She's not like the other girls here, there's something about her but I can't figure it out.
I groan and rubbed my closing eyes before remembering that I have class today. Potions, with Professor Snape. I quickly pulled my uniform on and combed my fingers through my ruffled hair before walking to the great hall and sitting down on the Slytherin table, next to Hailey.
Hailey had dark brunette, long curly hair down almost to her waist. Her eyes were a deep brown color yet they had a tint of emerald green that always came into sight in the light. She was a short height, only up to my chest. It never usually looked like she was wearing too much makeup, only the lipgloss that she was constantly smearing over her lips every five minutes.
"So, who did you shag last night that made you so late to breakfast?" Hailey asked, not taking her eyes off the glass of sparkling cold water kept between her small hands.
"I forgot the time.. so I slept in."
"Oh, well It's a pleasure you're finally here." She said sarcastically. "No, really. Blaise won't stop talking about the new girl."
New girl?
Her words caused a pink tint to cover my cheeks so I looked down to cover it. I began to eat, sinking my teeth into a thinly buttered piece of warm toast.
-Hailey's POV-
I took a green apple from the basket in front of me and started eating it, feeling the juice dribble down to my chin before I lifted it back into my mouth with my index finger, sucking it off my finger for a moment after.
I turned to look at Draco and he was already staring at me, his eyes bulging out of their sockets as he watched me.
"Something wrong?" I asked, slightly awkward from his stare.
"Oh uh, no. Are you ready for class?" He chuckled and got up, holding his hand out for me to grab to allow myself to stand.
I threw my apple into the trash and stood up without grabbing his hand.
"I don't need your help... thanks."
