This one is super short. I'm thinking about making a part two or even making it its own story. It depends on if you guys like the idea. This is inspired by the song "The Enemy" by Andrew Belle and "Glory" by Dermot Kennedy. Also, to lessen confusion. They still have bending/powers but, this isn't going to be super canon. Korra isn't the Avatar but, she's one of the few people who can control all the elements. I hope that makes sense...I don't know. Just read it and tell me what you think, lol. If there are any mistakes, I'm sorry. I didn't proofread.

______

Korra's fingertips traced Asami's spine as she looked out the window. "I have to go. The sun will be up so-" Asami cut her off with a kiss. It was softer than the ones they shared before this moment. It was how they knew that their time was coming to an end. "One more? Before we have to go back to the real world?" Asami asks. Her question is answered with another soft kiss. It didn't take much for them to get there. A kiss here, a bite there. They tumbled off the edge together. A tangled heap of gasps and moans.

______

After reluctantly getting dressed, Korra plopped back down on the bed. She presses her lips to Asami's forehead and stays there. "When will I see you again?" Asami mumbles. Korra sighs. "You know I can't give you an answer to that." Asami squeezes her hand. "I know."

They sit quietly for a few minutes before Korra looks out the window again. "Sami..."

"Okay, okay..." Asami pulls her in for another kiss. A single tear slips down her cheek when they part. Korra wipes it away with her thumb. "I'll see you soon, okay?" She whispers. Asami nods. "Okay."

______

Korra rolled out of bed and began her morning routine. When she's done getting dressed, she goes to her kitchen to make a cup of coffee. Korra hates mornings and, she hated this one even more since she was up all night with Asami. Though she didn't regret it. They hadn't seen each other in almost two months. Before she could pour her first cup, loud sirens filled her ears.

INTRUDER ALERT, INTRUDER ALERT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL! ALL GUARDS, TAKE YOUR POSTS!

Korra moved to get a better look at the cameras propped on her wall and dropped her mug! "What the hell is she doing?!" She whispered to herself.

Korra grabbed her glider and jumped off her balcony. "HOLD YOUR FIRE!" She yelled as she landed in front of her guards. "Korra, this is the woman who tried to assassinate you." She turned to look at the head guard. "I said hold your fire. That was an order, not a question!"

As Korra ran the small distance towards Asami, she wondered how she managed to get past the security system. "Asami, are you out of your mind?! What the hell are you doing here?!" She hissed. Asami placed her hand on her shoulder. "I-Korra.." Korra took a moment to really look at her. She was unusually pale, she had a busted lip and what looked like a black eye. Her hands were pressed to her stomach and covered in blood. Before she could process what was happing, Asami swayed and, her arms were around her before she hit the ground. "Hey, hey, I got you." She whispered.

Asami tried to speak but whatever happened to her seemed to be taking its toll. Her eyes fluttered closed and, Korra panicked. She carried Asami bridal style as she made her way to the main doors. "Somebody page Kya!" Instead of doing what she asked, everyone stood, staring at the woman in her arms. "NOW!" She yelled.

Korra made her way to her quarters, kicking open her door. She placed Asami on her bed and opened her armor. Before she could do anything else, her door opened. Kya fixed her mouth to speak but was cut off. "Don't ask questions. Please just heal her." Korra said.

Kya nodded, moving to stand over Asami. Her hands glowed a soft blue as she worked. After a few minutes, she stopped.

"Is she going to be okay?" Korra mumbled. "Yes, she should wake up in a couple of hours. She'd be dead if she didn't come when she did." Korra tried to ignore the knot that formed in her stomach at those words. "How long?" Kya asked. Korra's gaze shifted from Asami to the healer. "How long what?" Kya smiled. "How long have you loved her?"

Korra turned around to face her balcony. "For a while. She's not the monster everyone thinks she is. She's not like the others. She's good." Kya moved to stand next to her. "Are you sure?"

"I've never been more sure about anything in my life."
