Chapter five

A few moons had passed, Oakkit and Pinekit were apprentices. Rainpaw was learning all about medicine duty's from her two mentors. Fallenpaw, Sugarpaw and Patchpaw were training hard under their mentors.

Oakpaw and Pinepaw padded over to Flinteyes. 

"Hello dad. "Pinepaw mewed.

"Hi father. "Oakpaw purred.

"Hello you two, training well? "Flinteyes looked over at the two of them.

"Oh yes! We train with our siblings sometimes. Though not often with Fallenpaw and Patchpaw. "Pinepaw chirped up.

"Oh well they are older and in more advanced training you know. "Flinteyes mewed.

"Hello Flinteyes, me and Flametail are going to train our apprentices ok? "Sparrowcry walked over to them.

"Ok, see you two. "Flinteyes mewed.

"Bye papa! "Pinepaw called.

"Bye dad. "Oakpaw gave a small meow.

They padded away outside the camp to train.

"Fallenpaw, we should train too. "Flinteyes walked over to her.

"Ok Flinteyes. "She gave a small purr standing up and padding outside.

"Since all we need to learn about is how to fight since you're not too good at that, maybe we should also hunt for ourselves to eat. "Flinteyes mewed.

"I'm trying to only take little bites of food, ration my catches out about three days. Then it starts to turn into crowfood though. "Fallenpaw mewed. "That way I'm not over hunting. "

"Hm, smart idea. "Flinteyes gave a small nod as he crouched. "I on the other paw haven't eaten in a week almost. Other then small bits of prey. "He crawled forwards and jumped onto a sparrow.

"Woah! That's amazing. How did you know it was there? "Fallenpaw mewed.

"I saw leaves shuffling and suspected either prey or a cat. It didn't smell like a cat though. "He picked the sparrow up and brought it over. "Though I'll need to give this to another cat first then hunt again to eat. "

"But I don't smell or hear or see any other prey. "Fallenpaw mewed.

"Yeah. But I can't eat without feeding another cat sadly. "He picked the sparrow up to bring it back.

"Well I won't tell anyone if it happened to disappear. "Fallenpaw mewed. "We can always catch more prey for them, but we can't if you starve to death! "

He nodded and took a few bites of it. Then pushed it to her. "Here, eat up too. You need strength. "Fallenpaw started to eat the rest of the meat then dug a small hole to put the bones into.

"We should check the rouges Flinteyes. "Fallenpaw suggested.

"Uh- no need to. I checked earlier and they are staying to their side. "Flinteyes mewed.

"Oh alright. "She sniffed the air. "Well, Imma go hunt a bit. You try hunting too. "She padded off.

Fallenpaw padded over near the Thunderpath. Taking a sniff of the air, she caught scent of a rabbit. Though it was on Shadowclan territory.

"Maybe... I'll be fast its not like they are fast enough to catch it. "She mumbled, slowly creeping over the Thunderpath, incase a monster came roaring by.

She went into a bush waiting for the unsuspecting prey to move closer. The rabbit took two hops away from her though, so she crept forwards. Then pouncing she killed the rabbit.
