Beyond the FLAT

It was 14th February yet again when the lass turned 14. The whole house celebrated her birthday. The teen was very cheerful. She cut the cake with a bright smile and was congratulated by her friends who visited her too. Her heart was contented with the gifts and she put them in her drawer labelled as 'special things'. 

Her day was going perfect until the night set in and she went to bed. She kept switching sides and couldn't fall asleep somehow. She went out of bed to check up on her family and found her grandmother awake. Her grandmother noticed her presence and signaled her to come in the room. She asked about what bothered her and Lynn replied, "Grandma, I can't seem to sleep. I have no idea about whatever on earth is bothering me but I do know that I won't be sleeping because of it." Her eyes looked very tired and her dark circles could be seen so out of concern her grandma questioned her about the bad sight. The blonde girl sighed and hesitated to reply. "G-grandma um sorry I stay up all night watching my phone and cuddling my snake plushie , I'm sorry I know I should not but it's too tempting-", Grandma chuckled, "Yes, I know the temptations can be quite pleasing but we must be aware that these temptations can be very harmful." The girl nodded. Grandmother noticed that it had been quite late and advised the teen to sleep. Lynn went back to bed and closed her eyes. She could hear the sound of the clock in her room because of the silence. Suddenly she felt uneasy and the sound of the clock started to get distant as she fell into a deep slumber. But instead of the sounds ending she could hear different types of sounds this time and found herself in a place quite different from what she saw before closing her eyes. She could see neon-purplish flowers and plants including trees. Everything was very different from the real world. She had no idea where she was but she decided to take a step closer to what seemed like a girl from behind. She wore  a short pink dress and had long blonde hair similar to Lynn's. The teen hesitated at first but eventually gathered up the courage, tapping the figure. The girl turned immediately. "oh lord now what? i swear to god if you are- oh sorry about that hehe! I am Chloe! You're a person from the real world too I am guessing and you must be thinking that you're stuck here but um idk that much about that cuz i have been stuck here since like 5 years so umm." The teen was horrified and could feel her eyes getting watery. "N-No I wanna go back no I wanna meet my family no Please let me out no-" Chloe was confused and tried to calm her down. "You're being childish calm down what the hell" Chloe mumbled, "So dramatic istg so weird bruh."  

"Will I get food here? Will I get water here? Will I be able to meet my family?" The other girl just walked away mumbling, "Stupid, I ain't replying" Lynn rushed towards Chloe and begged her to get her out. "BrO wHaT tHe heLL?"  (author: WTH HAVE I WRITTEN PLS- IDK WHT I AM DOING) Lynn begged, "Can you please explain about all of this-" Lynn started fading away, Chloe looked shocked and the teen disappeared. "wOw am I a joke?", complained Chloe and went back to where she was.

Lynn's P.O.V (real world)

Lynn woke up and touched herself. She breathed heavily and looked at the time. It was 14:02 p.m. Nobody woke her up. She was confused so she went out and saw everyone doing the things they did on daily basis. She asked her mom, "Mom why didn't you wake me up?" Mother scoffed, " It seemed like you were enjoying your sleep and grandma told me what happened last night. " She looked towards and grandma smiled. She was confused about last night. She didn't know whether it was a dream or it was just another dimension but she thought that she wasn't so special and was probably overthinking. So without further ado, she went to her granny because she felt like grandma knew something.

She knocked. "Come in." "Did I disturb you grandma?" Grandma shook her head and tapped the seat beside her. Lynn sat and started, " Grandma - Something weird happened last night. I was in a different place somehow and the plants there were neon-purple and I almost thought I was stuck there but then I felt myself fading from there and entering the real world."
