That way

Hey everyone, I'm finally back with another oneshot for this book. This ones rather short but it will alway just depend on the song i'm basing it on. So i had this idea of giving the chapter just a number at first and let you all guess which song it's based on. I don't know if thats fun or stupid so i'll just give it a try. I'll change the name of the chapter to the song name after a few days or so. Depending on if you like this i might keep it or just name it after the song right away. Hope you enjoy it even if it's short.

"Herrera, you are on desk duty for the rest of the shift!" Robert yelled as the team made it's way up to the showers after a call. Andy rolled her eyes behind his back. After a quick shower she took her place at reception.

To say she was annoyed was an understatement, she had done nothing wrong on that call and yet here she was, getting punished again. Andy noticed his eyes on her more often than not and when she looked up he would either look at her that way, as if he wanted to undress her with his eyes or he quickly turned away.

"What's going on with you and Sullivan again?" Vic asked as she approached Andy. "I really don't know what's wrong with HIM." Andy hissed.

„Okay so something is definetly going on again. It's never gonna end with you too is it? Friends, no friends, friends." she joked lightly. "I don't know Vic, its... he literally has me running in circles,it's like he's messing with me on purpose." she sighed.

"Is this a friendly game or is he trying to drive you away from him?" Vic asked carefully. "You would think that but i think it's actually so i'll hang onto him..." she mumbled. "What do you mean with that?" she inquired. "That he's a little messed up, thats what i mean." Andy whispered, more to herself then to Vic.

"Herrera!" he shouted from his office. Andy rolled her eyes. "That's my que" she said to Vic and made her way into his office.

"Captain?" she said as she stood infront of his desk. "Are you... It was a close call and it could have ended badly, you know that right?" Robert asked and Andy nodded.

"I'm fine if that's what you were about to ask. It wasn't a bad fall, no bruises nothing." she said. "Good. That's good." he said relieved.

"Oh so that's why I am on desk duty? Not because you didn't agree with my call but because you were worried." she stated. Robert looked down fidgeting with his fingers.

"Ugh, okay listen. I know what you mean when you act like that and put me on desk duty instead of just asking me how i am. I get that you just worry and want to protect me but you could have just talked to me. Why is it so hard for you to just talk to me? Instead you keep going over my head and punish me for it and you don't even see it's breaking my heart." she exhaled.

"Was that all?" she asked stern. Robert nodded and she made her way out of his office again. Thankfully it was late enough by now to leave reception for the day, she couldn't bare to sit there with his eyes on her any longer.

She made her way upstairs had dinner with the team and hit the bed early. But even after hours of laying there she couldn't fall asleep. He kept her awake. Andy got up to get some water in the beanery and as she filled her cup with water she heard footsteps entering. She didn't need to turn around to know who it was. He opened the fridge and the lit his muscular body perfectly.

"It's never gonna happen Andy." Robert said without turning around to her. Andy was leaning against the kitchen counter by the sink. She didn't know what to say because apparently in his world she was the only one feeling this.

He closed the fridge without taking anything and turned around to her. Even though the beanery was pitch dark without the light of the fridge she could feel his eyes on her and she could swear the air between them was about to ignite.

His silouhette came closer to her until Robert was right in front of her. Andys face was only at the height of his chest but right now it didn't feel intimidating at all. It felt intimate.

He leaned down slowly to her and with the little distance between them she could see his eyes clearly. His lips only inches away from hers. "It's never gonna happen." he said coldly and walked away.

Andy didn't make it back to her bunk, instead she sat down on the couch and stared at the wall. She couldn't let herself feel it so she focused on a spot at the wall like it would keep her safe.

"Oh my gosh Andy! Why did you have to scare me like that?" Vic whisper shouted as she walked into the room and saw Andy. "Huh?" Andy said without taking her eyes off the spot.

"Are you okay?" she asked but she didn't get an answer so she sat down next to her. "How long have you been sitting here? The sun is barely up." she tried again, but again no reaction. "Andy?" she shook her lightly and Andy turned to Vic.

Now that that spot didn't keep her save anymore tears started rolling down her face. "Every time we talk it just hurts so bad cause i don't even know what we are." she said quietly and Vic pulled her into a hug. They never talked about her and Robert being more than friends and enemies but they didn't have to because Vic just knew.

They sat like that for a while until more of the team came from their bunks ready for breakfast. Andy wiped away her tears and tried her best to put on a smile. She helped Vic and Travis making breakfast and the team sat down together.

"Oh Captain, are you joining us for breakfast?" Travis asked as Robert entered the beanery. He looked at Andy and could see something was up, she looked exhausted. "Yea why not." he said and joined them.

"Coffee?" Travis asked him. "That would be great, didn't get much sleep last night." he said and again looked at Andy, he couldn't help it his eyes were always looking for her.

She couldn't bare to look at him and made it her mission to stare into her cereal bowl for now. While the team chatted away over breakfast Andy was silent and focused mainly on her cereal but every now and then she couldn't help but look at him. Why was it that even when he messed with her and hurt her that she couldn't stop thinking of him. Why did she still just want to be in his arms?

"Herrera, when you are finished, come to my office please." Robert said and left. Andy sighed but she wanted to get this, whatever it was, over with rather sooner than later. She put her bowl in the sink and went to his office.

To her surprise he wasn't sitting behind his desk, he was in his bunk changing and that's when Andy realised she was still in her pyjamas as well.

"Captain?" she said, still not sure why he called her to his office again. "We need to talk." he just said. "Agreed." Andy said with slight annoyance in her voice. "You can start." Robert stated and Andy sighed. Of course he wanted to talk but she would have to do the talking again.

"So... we tell people we're friends right?" she started as he walked out of his bunk and leaned against his desk. She stood in front of him making sure there was enough distance between them.

"But... I'm catching you across the room. I notice the way you look at me." She continued but he didn't seem to have anything to say. "It makes no sense to me, cause we're fighting over what we do, it's always about the job. And i get it, you made it clear there's no way that i'll end up being with you. Message recieved." she said defeated.

"So, friends?" he asked, finally saying something. "Yea but friends don't look at friends that way." Andy sighed.

„Do you feel more?" Robert asked without any emotion in his voice giving Andy no clue about where this was going. "Honestly, i can't even tell if i love or hate you more. But somehow you've got me addicted and i... i'm having trouble letting go." she admitted. His eyes were on hers the entire time.

"Last night... you said that it was never gonna happen and then you almost kissed me in the dark, so what does that mean huh?" she said annoyed, trying to get him to open up as well.

"Maybe you've got me addicted as well." he said hesitantly. Andy shook her head slightly.

"I can't do this anymore. Every time we talk it just hurts Robert, it hurts so bad i can barely talk. And if you can't start opening up and admitting what you feel for me and stop those stupid games then there's no way i'll ever end up being with you. But you know as well as i do that friends don't look at friends the way you look at me right now." Andy said, she turned around and closed his office door behind her as she walked out.
