Azalea pov:Waking up has never felt better. I felt more secure than I have ever been. Knowing I had a job which meant I had now a source of income was great. Really the plan for now was just to get used to the new city and work.
I soon slowly, very slowly started to get out of bed. Fun fact I was in no way a morning person at all. I showered, did a little skincare and brushed my curly hair before choosing what I was going to wear today.
Today I think I was feeling a more cute casual outfit
After that I grabbed some essentials in my bag and was out the door. As usual as I was passing by leaving through the entrance of the building I waved and offered a hello to Martha, who smiled back and did the same. After that I had set off to the little cafe.
As I was walking I had received a text from an unknown number. I furrowed my eyebrows and opened it.
"Hey its liam, Damians friend from the other day I was wondering if youd wanna hang out?"
Ah yeah damiens friend he was nice and easy to talk to. I'm sure hanging out with him wouldn't hurt but then again I'm working.
"Hey yeah I remeber you, i would love to hang out but unfortunately I'm working today so unless you would like to maybe meet at my lunch break then I cant"
The text back was immediate.
"Yeah that's perfect I'll pick you up where do you work?"
I decided to just go with it and texted the cafes address.
A little dander later and I had arrived at the quaint little cafe. As I opened the door I was greeted with the soft wind chimes above and the smell of freshly brewed coffee.
Josh popped out from the kitchen and gave me a big goofy smile to which I giggled at.
" good morning josh" I smiled at him
"Good morning to you to lia" I smiled more at that.
"Already giving me nicknames huh?" I said teasingly
"Of course sweetheart" he gave me a teasing wink back.
It was so nice to be able to freely banter with someone after so long as where I had lived before I had never connected to anyone and so there was never anyone I could freely be myself around. Usually I had tried to keep to myself as the people that did want to get close to me never had the best intentions.
" so what am I doing today" I asked cursiouly. I was still new to this whole job thing so I was just taking it step by step, learning as best I could.
"Well I have decided I will stick you on the counter today while I'm in the kitchens" I smiled at that, seemed easy enough.
" sounds perfect"
Just as I had finished my sentence our first customer had walked through the doors. And that's how it went for the rest of the day. I had to admit the cafe was actually really popular and I could see why.
Soon it was lunch like and I had just remebered my plans I had an hour for lunch and so I had planned to tell josh but I must have forgotten.
" hey josh do you mind if I leave for lunch, I have plans"
Oh plans you say, with who?" Josh raised his eyebrows at me with a teasing smile.
"Trust me it's not whatever your thinking, it's a friendly thing"
"Mhm sure sure we'll see"
I hit his arm in annoyance and started to pack up getting ready to leave.
" so is it a he or she, I don't discriminate" that actually surprised me but I schooled my expression
"Go away Josh" all he did in retaliation was whine hugging onto my arm.
Soon I heard the rumbling of a car outside and assumed it was liam pulling up. I looked outside and right I was.
I walked outside and was greeted with an open door.
"After you madam" I giggled at that and slid into the seat hearing the slam of the door behind me.
"So what do you wanna do" I looked at him dumbfounded I thought he had it all figured out.
" oh well I dont mind, whatever you wanna do"
He took a minute and seemed to think.
" okay park it is"
