A black Mercedes-Benz entered the garage of the Mansion, the door opened revealing a ravishing women in beige pants and a white crop top,her natural,mid-waist length hair were secured in a mid-part,loose bun, taking her mini Prada bag with her she took halting steps towards the mansion, which was truly a piece of art with its Italian structure.

She rushed through the hallways of the mansion which were decorated with several paintings, reaching her room she slammed the door shut and locked it throwing her bag and keys on the bed,she slumped down on the floor with her back against the door she brought her legs to her chest and crying hugging herself. The light coloured pants were stained with mascara. The words:

                                                I never loved you Ilaya

kept repeating in her head like a mantra.

She hated how she felt;vulnerable, helpless, used. She hated herself for falling in love with someone who didn't even have an ounce of humanity let alone feelings for her.

Time passed like seconds and she soon fell asleep, forgetting her worries for a few hours.

Ilaya woke up with a gasp, with sweat beads on her forehead, her breathing was fast and she took deep breaths to calm herself.

Nightmares

Everyone has nightmares once in a while, one's worst fear, one's unusual fantasies about monsters,or their past-a dark past.

Ilaya was one of them, the one's with a past,no matter how much you try to run away from the truth it's always there, haunting you.

She clutched her light brown hair in fists as tears streamed down her face, she might appear to be tough, strong and independent, but she was a human after all,she had insecurities, she wasn't a rock, she was not strong from the inside, her past memories would haunt her every night, every second of the day,but she had learnt one thing and that was not to run away from her problems like she used to.

Now,she was going to do the same, get up and pretend to be happy behind a mask of fake smiles.

She got up,stumbling back as her legs were numb from being in the same position for so long.

She made her way towards her vanity, she stood infront of the huge mirror which show cased a beauty-a broken one, with a mascara smudged face and dried lips and messy hair.

She wiped her tears harshly with the back of her hands. They reminded her how weak she was.She shut her eyes and sighed opening them again and carried herself to the bathroom.

The warm water on her back felt soothing and tranquil, coming out she washed her face with cold water to remove any signs of crying.

Getting dressed in a pair of grey sweatpants and a matching sweatshirt and moved out of her room.

Ilaya went downstairs towards the living room where her parents usually had their tea as it was about six in the evening.

As she stood by the threshold of the room she ran her eyes across it.The room was dimly lit with royal blue couches surrounding a coffee table, the dimmed lights made it even more cosier, she took small steps towards a couch on which her mother sat laughing at something her father had said, she quietly sat beside her and rested her head on her mother's shoulder.

Amna smiled seeing her daughter and moved back a little and Ilaya made herself comfortable. The househelp served her tea and left leaving the family of three alone.

"how are you?,huh it's been a while since you spent some time with us"Hassan asked as he barely saw her in the past week.

"oh baba you know I'm really busy nowadays","and I'm fine what about you?"she said after taking a sip of the tea,as she had shifted to a normal position in order to not spill the burning liquid over her mom.

"oh I'm perfect".

Ilaya chuckled at her dad's enthusiasm.

"well thats a good thing"she raised her eyebrows smiling at him.

"mmhmmm"he replied as he sipped on the tea.

"let him be,here,I baked your favourite cookies today" Amna said while passing a plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. She took hold of it almost immediately and took a bite, probably the best one's she's ever had.The happenings of the day long forgotten as she enjoyed the company of her parents.

They shared a few laughs as they kept talking about almost everything, but it ended as soon as her father asked her the question which made her body go stiff.

"Ilaya did u think about it?"
