I was running late this morning, first Jo was having hard time parting with me to go to his preschool but was cool after I remind him that it was soccer day today, that boy and his soccer I tell you. Then my car gave up mid way, so had to call towing company to get it towed and then got in Uber , finally here its already 10:30.
As I made my way to my office, Nina winked at me and told me that Kevin was looking for me. I dread every moment I have to meet Kevin. Kevin is our other senior partner, he and I started in this firm almost at the same time but I got my tittle of senior partner by my hard work whereas he got it the easy way, lets say his dad's name being the second name of the naming partner of the firm after James helped him alot.
He gives me very wrong vibes, he always asks me out and I keep refusing, he always finds a reason or other to come in my office and spend unnecessary time just lingering around. I have talked with James and HR but apparently despite being a lawyer he is also a class one jackass who knows not to use the word that can get classified as sexual abuse at work place. Hell, I have even talked about this with his dad, who is a class one gentleman, after he talked with Kevin it worked but few weeks but when he retire Kevin was back to being grade a creep. So here I am dreading every step that I am taking towards his office.
Hey Anzee! beams Kevin. I roll my eyes internally. "Hey kevin, and it's Elizabeth" I say. Oh! common Anzee the amount of time we have worked with each other, I think we are close enough for me call you what your friends gets to call you, he said with that stupid smirk on his face and I again did the eye roll thing but this time I think he noticed as he said I know whole another way to make your eye roll but in a good way and winked at me. Oh! How I wish to slap so hard that he'll roll his eye which will give me so much pleasure.
Why did you want to talk to me Kevin, I tried to tell it as frustatingly as possible so he would get the hint. He just laughs, why so uptight I know so many ways to loosen you up he said. I just gave him the look that I did not get what he was trying to imply whereas I exactly know what he meant. He clears his throat and said I have a great case where I think we both will have pleasure of you working under me.
"Excuse me"
Oh sorry wrong word, I meant I can really enjoy you helping me out on this one, what do you think says Kevin.
Not this time Kevin, I have a high profile case and I am assisting James on two of his, you see my hands are full, but if you really need help you can always email the detail to Nina and I'll get to you whenever possible I said.
I was about to leave his office, Kevin called my name on more time so I looked at him. Lets go out tonight, I know this very good Greek place, you love Greek food he said trying to give me puppy eyes and failing miserably. At this point I have mastered the art of saying no to him. I am allergic to Greek food especially lamb Kevin and moreover Jo has soccer today so no can do I said and left.
His office, his presence hell even his name suffocates me. And I think I know about Kevin is that he just want to get in my pants and he hates Jo. And someone who dislikes my baby, can't even think about them.
I passed my James office on my way out, he was talking with someone, he had his back on me so can't say who it was, I gave him a coy smile, I know he saw me going in Kevin's office and he knows how much I dread doing that. He is like the brother I never had, I know he feels bad that he can't do anything in this situation and I partly blames himself for this coz he is the reason I joined this firm. But what he does not know know Kevin or no kevin if he ask me again I'll do it for him as he and Bianca are my one normal family that I and Jo got blessed with.
********************************************** So what do you guys think of Kevin, he is something isn't he. I had a coworker like that, would not get a hint, he made my life a living hell all the while he was there, don't know what happen, one day I went on my shift and all I heard was that he found a better option somewhere and resigned. Do you guys have similar experinece, I hope and pray not.
