Christina decided we should eat at Martelli's, a local Italian place. We walk in and are escorted to a booth. We get situated and I turn to her. "I haven't really been out much and I think this is great" I say a slight smile.
"Anything for you boo" she says we a smile.
"I mean it's been rough lately with Tobias. He's having some problems.." I say looking down. His depression was getting worse and I didn't know what to do. Maybe its good I tell her, right?
"What do you mean problems?" She says arching her eyebrow.
"Well he's been lashing out a lot, not like hitting me or anything, but just flash backs. And his moods are all over the place. One minute he's happy and calm the next he's angry and fuming. I mean I have my days too but I get worried." I say nearly crying. I hated seeing him like this. We've come so far to be this hurt still.
"Well Tris, I think he has a lot of issues and I think seeing a therapist would be the best route. He's clearly not getting any better and you need to get him help before it gets worse" she says as the waiter arrives at our table.
"What can I get you ladies?"
"I would like some spaghetti with meatballs" I say dryly.
"Oh Tris you're so basic!" Christina says with a laugh.
"I'll have Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo" Christina says with a smile. The waiter writes it down and then leaves.
"Christina. How've you and Peter been?" I say trying to change the previous subject.
"He's great. He treats me well. It weird to think I would be spending my life with him but I'm happy now..I'm lucky" she says with a smile. We both look at each other awkwardly before she laughs.
"Wow. We have nothing to talk about. That's new" she says.
"Very new" I say biting the inside of my lip. It was a bad habit I could never quit.
"Peter wants to start a family. And I don't know how to feel about that" Christina says with a frown.
My mouth drops in shock. Christina. And children. Peter. And children. Christina Peter children.
"Lord have mercy on us all" I say with a snort.
"I know you have a dislike towards him but he's changed Tris" she hisses.
"He may not remember it but I remember almost dying because of him. Did you forget he almost threw me off the chasm?" I say bitterly.
"Four Years Ago. It's over with and we are suppose to be adults now. He doesn't remember it so why are you holding it against him. You've never gave him a freaking chance" Christina says with a scowl.
"Whatever. I came here to eat not be irritated" I spit out fiercely.
"Let's eat" she says with a smile as the food arrives.
We eat in silence and leave when we are finished. Talk about Cold Lunch.
