MAX P.O.V
it was nearly 3 AM and i had just got done getting beaten by my drunken dad again,and i had enough,so i got my prepacked bag from camp and made sure i had everything and hid it so my father didn't find out and i made sure he was asleep when i went towards the phone,i felt weak all over my body,and i could barely hold myself up,so i memorized David's phone number and called him,i hoped he answered,even if he was annoying,he at least cared.
David p.o.v
it was extremely late when i woke up to my phone ringing i picked up

David-hello?
Max-David! thank fucking god!
David-Max?! are you alright,you sound like your in pain!
Max-well about that,my dads kinda drunk and beat me with a bat then hit me in the neck with a glass bottle and then threw a chain at me
David-oh my god! Max are you alright buddy?!
Max-I should be fine but i feel weak all over
David-Need me to come pick you up bud?!
Max-Yes please...........
David P.O.V
I quickly put some clothes on and called Gwen,I couldn't do this alone
Gwen P.O.V
I got a call from David and picked up,knowing he rarely calls
Gwen-David? whats up man?
David-Yea ummm we need to go get Max,like right now
Gwen-huh? whats the little shit doing now?
David-He's not doing anything! Its his dad,hes beating him with a glass bottle and he threw a chain at him,and when he called the poor kid sounded so weak,and plus he actually said please,he never does that!
Gwen-oh dear god i'm on my way David
Max P.O.V
I went back to my room,hearing my dad wake up and he scream 'MAXWELL PINE! U BETTER BE ASLEEP' and before i knew it i had a panic attack,that was until a heard a fimilar and annoying voice
David P.O.V
I arrived and noticed Max wasnt kidding,his dad wasnt at all sober,so i screamed 'MAX WHERE ARE YOU BUDDY' surprisingly the man didnt seem to hear,witch was odd knowing he was right in front of us

I heard David scream and tried to answer but i could barely walk so from my closet i screamed weakly 'DAVID!'
David P.O.V
I heard Max scream and quickly bolted towards the sound,Gwen then asked 'David,u know we dont know this place well right?' i replied 'well,thats not stopping me from saving max Gwen'
