I dived through an opened window before landing gently on an unnecessarily long dining table. A moment of silence blanketed the room as I searched for the little rodent. "A-Already?" The Emperor of Lux stuttered as I locked eyes with him before cocking my head. "Should we kill it?" A knight muttered. "How stupid are you? Don't you remember what happened to the last nation that harmed a corvus?" Another one replied before being shushed by the Emperor. "Ahem, lady Belea, I figured it would take longer for you to answer my proposal." The Emperor said with a hint of fear in his voice. I hopped over to him and returned to my human form before crouching down and gently raised his head so that we can maintain eye contact. "Why yes I have, but in order to receive your answer, you have to answer my question. Do you know why a swarm of crows is called a murder?" I asked as he made an audible gulp. "N-No ma'am." He mumbled. "Well, that is fine," I said as I kissed his forehead, "just be more careful next time." I warned before returning to my raven form and flew back to my cottage.
The Emperor's pov:
"Men, the witch of Ravanir has spared us. Let's..." I was cut off as I felt tiny feet on my head. "There's a crow on my head, isn't there." I muttered as I knew my fate has been sealed. Nobody answered as millions of crows had swarmed the empire. "So this is why a group of crows is called a murder." I muttered as I heard the horrific screams and cries of my people as they were being killed and eaten by these damned creatures.
I don't know how much time passed before the last audible scream was snuffed. "Men. Not only did our attack on the heart of darkness failed. The dark witch of Ravanir has unleashed her might on our homes. Meaning our family and friends are dead and we are next, if any of you want to get some things off your chests before we meet our end, speak now." I commanded my men seconds before we were swarmed by the ravenous murder of crows. Darkness surrounded me as my men were eaten alive, then one bird hit me causing me to fall out of my throne. My head bounced off the marble floor as blood trickled down my cheek, beaks pierced my eardrums as I lied there, dazed and alone. I could feel each beak pierce and tear open my stomach, my organs getting ripped out and eaten then it all stopped. "Am I... Am I dead?" I muttered as I was still surrounded by darkness. "No, not yet. But that is not of importance right now. What is of importance is why did you put my children in danger? Why did you throw away your life? What went through your mind when you gave the orders to attack Ravanir? And most importantly, why did you throw away the lives of your people?" The demoness asked me. "You think I will allied my empire with a demon like you? To hell with you and to hell with Ravanir." I cursed her as I heard her soft footsteps as she left. "Very well then, you shall relive this moment for the rest of time." That was the last thing she said before her hellspawns resumed eating me.Belea pov:
"Why did he call me a demon? All I did was help his empire grow, and he repays me by attacking my kingdom." I muttered to myself as I lied in bed not trying to cry as I started to put too much thought on what he said. "People are confusing." I concluded as I got comfortable and fell asleep.
