Chapter 4

"Hi there! I'm Yui, I love embroidery and playing the piano."
"Hey man, she sounds cool" Venti stared at Yui.
Xiao thought this was absurd.
A childhood friend, suddenly appearing out of the blue coming to the school that he was attending. Childhood friends are cool but it had to be her.

During recess, Venti invited Yui to come eat with them. Yui declined but after a lot more convincing from Venti, she finally agreed.
"Oh? You have a friend named Xiao?"
"Yeah! He's the greatest friend I could ask for!"
"Oh really? What if that was all just an act?"
"Pardon me?"
"Haha, it's nothing, I'm just joking."
Xiao was definitely annoyed. Out of everyone, it had to be her.

"Hey Al!!!!"
"Stop calling me that Yui!"
"Awwie, why not?"
"It's annoying!"
"Come on! It's alright!"
"I hate you"

"Why can't you stop calling me that."
"Since only I can call you that, I'll feel special."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously"

a few weeks later...

"Hey Xiao! I wanna tell you something."
"Alright go on"
"Me and Yui are dating!!!'
"What?!"
"What?"
"Say that again"
"Yui and I are dating?"
"Alright that's it."

Xiao ran around the campus, searching for Yui.
"Did you have to torment me like that?"
"Hmm? What do you mean?" Yui asked with an innocent face.
"First, you use me as a toy, now you go and date my crush? Seriously?"
"Oh you mean that time? Come on, the past is the past. Don't tell me you still think I like you!"
Xiao snapped. Before he could hurt her a voice appeared.

"Xiao?"
"Z-Zhongli?"
"Hey Zhongli, long time no see!" Yui pushed Xiao away.
"Oh Yui. You're still as bright as ever."
"Hehe! I missed you!"
"Mmh. Me too."
The two walked away sharing stories.

Xiao walked away remembering the time Yui and him ever spent together.

flashback time (again cuz i love flashbacks btw this is when they're like children)

"Alright class, say hi to your new friend!" The teacher took Yui in.
Yui was always the heather of the class. She had the looks, brains and she was also wealthy. Everyone loved her as soon as she came in.
"Hey! What're you doing alone?" One day, Yui approached the loner, Alatus (Xiao).
"Yui! Don't talk to him! They say you'll get back luck if you talk with him!"
"Those are just rumors, I bet he's real friendly. Hi! I'm Yui! How about you?"
"A-Alatus..."
"You have a cute name! Hmm, gimme a second. I'll call you Al!"

After that, Alatus and Yui were inseparable.

What went wrong you ask?

Soon, they both grew up and Alatus made a mistake by falling in love with Yui. It seems that Yui also loved Xiao but it was all just an act. Yui wasn't what she looked like. Everyone has a mask. A mask to cover their true nature. Xiao has one. Venti has one. Zhongli has one, but Yui had the most collection of masks. She could change her personality, her attitude, the way she speaks. Behind her friendly mask lies a selfish, greedy sadist. Yui found out all about Alatus' weakness. She used it and made Alatus do all he dirty work. The plan was going smoothly until Zhongli came. Zhongli freed Alatus from Yui and named him Xiao so he could forget all his bad memories. A few months later, Xiao regained his memories. He was thankful to Zhongli and swore he would never forgive Yui.
