"Harry don't!" Jayde yells from the corner.

"Jayde shut up!" Her father yells.

"Don't talk to her like that." I demand.

"Who are you to tell me how to talk to my daughter?" He scowls at me.

"I may have nothing to do with any of this, but I care for Jayde, and I can't let you do this to her." I stand tall.

"Harry don't." He's calling for me.

"Jayde," I look to her. I mouth the word 'run' to her so her father won't catch on. She gives me worried eyes. I give her a nod. He smoothly, quietly climbs up as I turn back to her father.

"I don't care what you feel for Jayde. She's not your daughter." His wide-spread palm connects with my face. My head whips to the side. I immediately spring my head back up to face the disgusting man.

"That the best you got old man?" I laugh at him. He gives me an angry growl. He swings his fist at my face again, but this time I duck down to dodge the hit.

"Missed me." I laugh at him again. He gives another frustrated growl. He swings again, and after I come back from my dodge I throw my fist right at his nose.

"Fuck!" He exclaims. There's a small flow of blood streaming from his nostrils. While I was watching the blood slowly drop from his nose he finally hits me. This time it's his fist directly to my eye.

"Gotcha now." He's now laughing. He puts another hit, now to my nose.

Jayde's P.O.V.

I run down the stairs trying not to make too much noise. I hear Harry and my father in the room, I don't know what's happening, but it's something bad. I search the wall for a light switch. I flick the light on. Now to find just where that safe is. I search through the small crowded room, pushing and throwing things to search every spot I can.

"Found it." I whisper to myself.

I pull the heavy metal safe from a dark corner. What was the combination? I pull the note from my back pocket. It had a 4 number combination scribbled on the back.

"38..." I spin the lock. "14.. 5." I attempt to open the safe. It works. The safe swiftly opens, exposing the small contents. There's a check, worth £30,000. How did my aunt so much money? She was never too wealthy. I spot the small jewelry set in the corner of the safe. I reach to grab them. I suspend the small necklace in the air, watching the little stone spin around, gleaming beautifully in the light. I immediately remember when I was just a young girl, I would run around, with all this jewelry on pretending I was a princess. I feel tears flowing from my eyes. I wipe them away, and stand up to go back up stairs to find Harry.

"Harry!" I yell. I see him and my father, both covered in blood. It's difficult to tell who's.

"Harry." I run over to him.

"I'm ok." He manages to say.

"Jayde get away from him." Me father yells, standing up.

"Why?!" I yell at him.

"He's no good."

"What the fuck does that mean? He's no good? Your whole life is just rubbish." I sound dumb, but I don't know what to say.

"Look what that boy did to me." He shows me his bloody attire.

"Look what you did to him!" I hold Harry in my arms.

"He wasn't hit nearly as much as I was. That boy attacked me Jayde. He was about to kill me." I see my mum walk in slyly.

"Go away!" My father yells to her.
