Naruto's vision was darkness. The world that was so filled with yelling, chanting, and the clashing of swords... It had dissipated. It felt as though he was in a room, where no light or sound could enter. He was floating. Even his memory was foggy. Sure, the sounds echoed in his head, but—why? What did they mean? What was being fought over? He racked his brain, begging it to return his short-term memory. If only, so that he could understand what he needed to do next.

Sasuke...

Where was Sasuke? They were fighting alongside each other... Actually, they were getting their asses handed to them on a silver platter. But they were doing something together—something like...

A mission! They were on a life or death mission together. They needed to save Konoha—together. Together. Together.

So then, where was Sasuke? If they were fighting together, then where—

"Awake yet, Naruto?" A deep voice took over Naruto's thoughts. Immediately, his eyes shot open and the darkness he was enveloped in quickly turned into a new reality.

He was in Konoha, but not the Konoha he recognized. No... He'd been here before. Not that long ago...

"Over here, idiot."

Naruto spun around towards the deep voice and his memory flooded back in waves. Takahashi... The Cult Clan... Saving Konoha... It all came back to him now. That was the mission... Had he been knocked out or something? Naruto gripped onto a kunai he had in his back pocket and held it up defensively—even though Takahashi looked relaxed, unprepared to fight.

As Naruto's eyes quickly glanced around the dystopia that was Konoha, he recalled that Takahashi had taken him and Sasuke here before, only moments earlier—or so it seemed. Why were they there again though? And why wasn't Sasuke—

Takahashi cut him off before he could think any longer, "I needed to get us out of that place."

"Huh?" Naruto bit back, kunai still defending him.

"Put down your silly weapon, will you? It's not like that could kill me now." Takahashi scoffed at him.

"Why did you bring me here?" Naruto asked, not listening to him, which Takahashi took notice of.

"Like I said, I needed to get us out of there."

"What for, y'know?" Naruto demanded.

Takahashi sighed. "Konoha's shinobi already arrested more than half of my loyal followers... Not to mention, you seemed to be faking your injuries to put me in a vulnerable spot..."

"It worked, didn't it?" Naruto snickered.

"Barely. I still was able to separate you from the other pests..." Takahashi trailed off, before eyeing Naruto.

"I'll tell you why I brought you here. But first," Takahashi faced him. "Put down the weapon."

Slowly, Naruto listened and lowered his kunai. He didn't know what Takahashi wanted to do or say, but Naruto knew he couldn't be taken down that easily. And so, if anything, it should be Takahashi that was afraid... Not him.

"Fine." Naruto said, putting the kunai into his pouch.

"Thank you... Now..." Takahashi took a few steps towards him. "The real reason as to why I brought you here was because I realize that I can't defeat you and the Uchiha together. Not to mention, with all those other variables... I'd be near impossible unless I unleashed some unholy massacre... But that's not what I'm meant to do."

Naruto furrowed his brows. The man could not be more confusing and delusional. He was still half dressed-decked out in odd technology that adorned his forehead and various places on his body. They were obviously used to sustain the power that he'd stolen. Enough power for him to generate a Rinne-Sharingan... However unnatural the power had come to be... He still was able to use said power.
