"Andrew, will you be joining your father and I out for dinner tonight? We are flying out to France shortly after to meet with the agency in Monte."
I was currently sitting at the dinner table when my mother's voice rang into my ears as I was doing my own research on the common substances found within drugs and alcoholic drinks for my nutrition class.
Not that I even gave a fuck about going to school anymore. The only reason I stayed in school was because of him.
"I would love to mum but i'm currently busy with school." I said as she leans forward into me.
"Son, why don't you just join your father and I in running the family business?" She says.
"and what independence will I have with you and father telling me what to do?" I say turning towards her.
I'm not Eric
was what I really wanted to tell her.
She stayed silent causing me to turn towards her. She was looking towards my computer and for a second I thought she was noticing my knuckles from the other nights fight. I slowly put them underneath the table hiding them from her.
Until she finally broke the silence.
"How about we do this Drew, we place a wager."
"A wager?" I say raising up my eyebrow. "A bet, darling." She says. "Mum, I know what a wager is."
"If you do me and your father a favor and try and find the Princess of Bulgaria we will leave you alone. Never press you on joining the family agency. Ever, again. " She says as she pulls out her briefcase holding a few folders.
"Here." she says throwing a vanilla folder next to my laptop.
"It's everything and anything we have collected over the years on her whereabouts."
I pick up the thick folder and look glimpsed through the file. I remembered this case. We left London in search for this one female. I had left all my friends and my fight team, all for this one girl.
Ever since her, I didn't seem to care much about what my parents did or do with their jobs. Or lives at this point.
They hold the top agency for PI's, the best around the world work for my parents.
"I forgot about her. You guys never found her? Any clue on what she looks like or maybe could look like?" I asked.
"All we have is a picture of her mother, Marie if she still goes by that. We used a ageing program to what she would look like 22 years later from the picture and this is what she would look like." She says as she opens the folder and points out the picture.
"I can find her."
"You think so huh? The long lost princess...trust me honey our top investigators have tried. Me and your father have tried. It's pointless she can be anywhere, Marie's last location was in Scottsdale, Arizona. Three years ago, she ran a red light and luckily the street cameras caught it. But this is all we have." She says
"Your mother's right son, we couldn't do it and we are they best at what we do. The furthest we have gone close to the Munoz was this State and we searched for three years and couldn't find her in the area." he says entering the room adjusting his tie.
I rolled my eyes to look at him. "Who was the father?" I ask.
"His name was Prince Tyler of Bulgaria, may he rest in peace. He died four years ago, right before the search for his daughter. The queen was the first to contact our agency and sadly she's been the only we've failed." My mother said while look at my father.
