Book was walking down the sidewalk, heading towards the park to go meet up with Pillow. They were both going to check out the new swee-swa, which Leafy talked up a storm about.
As Book continued to walk around, she noticed something. There were fliers everywhere, which covered almost her whole neighborhood. Book assumed that it must be something important if someone is wiling to bury the whole town with it. Criminal? Missing person?... Book still continued to think of what it might be, and took take one of the many fliers from off of the ground. To Book's surprise, it was just about member recruitment for a baker's club.
; flier above; it reads; [The Sweet Baker's club is looking for 5 new members who have a passion for baking! Please meet me at Cherry Hill Av. at 9 am, sharp! I'll be waiting, teehe. Recruitment takes place tomorrow]
They must be really desperate for new members, Book thought.
Book decided to hold on to the flier. She wasn't exactly a star baker, but she was willing to give it a shot. She placed the filer in between her pages, making sure to remember where she left it. After strolling down a few more blocks, she finally reached the park. In the near distance, she spotted Pillow, who was sitting on a park bench next to the swings. Book called out her name a few times and waved hello to signal she was here, but it looked like Pillow was too focused looking around her surroundings. But it was no surprise to Book, usually, during their chats, Pillow would daydream a lot. Book didn't know if it was because what she was talking about was boring, but she didn't think much of it.
Book started to walk in Pillow's direction, still calling out her name. It's like Pillow was in her own world, blocking out anything but her own voice. But after many attempts of trying to grab Pillow's attention, Book eventually did. "Oh hey, Book!" "I didn't see you there," Pillow said. "Yeah, I've been trying to get your attention for the past 5 minutes!" Book said. "Sorry..." "I guess my mind trailed off when I was observing the swee-swa.." Pillow said. "Speaking of swee-swa, are you ready to finally get on one?" Book asked. "Yeah, let's go!" Pillow said happily. The fluffy object grabbed Book's hand and dragged her all the way to the swee-swa. Each taking a seat when they arrive.
While playing, Book decided to bring up the flier that she saw earlier that day. "Hey, Pillow?" Book said. "Yeah?" she replied. "So as I was walking down the park, I noticed this flier everywhere," Book said while taking the thin piece of paper from herself. "It's for some sort of recruitment for a baking club, and I was wondering if you've heard about it." "Ooo, I didn't know you were into baking..!" Pillow said surprised. "You should've told me sooner, I would love to bake with you!" she said excitingly. "Well, I'm not actually into baking at all really.." Book said. Pillow's face dropped from excited to confused. "Then.. why do you have that flier?" Pillow asked. "Well, I considered giving baking a shot, but I'm not fully sure if I will actually," Book replied. "I think you should definitely give it a try!" Pillow said. "Why is that?" Book questioned.
"Well, it's always great to try new things even if you don't have high expectations for it!" "And plus, you might even make some new friends." Pillow said happily. "Huh, well I guess your right," Book said. "Maybe I will try it out.." Book muttered to herself.
The next day, Book was heading towards the address for the recruitment event for the club. She was pretty excited to meet everyone there and hoped they'd like her. But what she didn't expect was more than 20 people gathered around. She was only expected about 3 or 10 to show, but I guess the fliers really did something. Book walked through the entrance and saw plenty of people conversing and playing. Beside her was a basket filled with name tag stickers. She took one and wrote her name on it, and then place it on her cover. After, she took a seat on the floor with the many objects around. She wondered if Pillow decided to visit the recruitment event as well, knowing she also liked baking too. Not much to her surprise, she did actually spot Pillow across the room. Looked like she was talking to Naily and Price Tag. Both showing her silly faces. Book didn't want to interfere in their little chat, so she decided to not grab Pillow's attention.
A few minutes later, a red object with a pointy point walked in front of the room, tapping her mic trying to get everyone's attention. The chatter started to tone down, and everyone was focusing their attention on them, including Book. "Hello everyone, my name is Pin for those who may not know." pin said. "Welcome to the recruitment of the sweet bakers club, I'm super glad that you're all here today!" "I actually didn't expect such a big crowd, but I'm happy people were interested in my club!" "Unfortunately, I only have enough space for 5 people in total, including myself." "So instead of picking randomly, I'll test you on your baking skills!" "Everyone must come back tomorrow at 3 pm with a baked good for me to judge and eat!" "The top 4 people are the ones eligible to join the club, so make sure to do your best!" "That's all I have right now, so you may exit the building and get your cakes prepped and ready!"
Instantly, many objects left the building and started to head home to get a head start. But Book became very nervous. How was she going to be able to make the top 4? She wasn't even that good at baking, and she assumed that Pin's standards would be extremely high due to her skill. Book continued to let stress invade her mind until she snapped out of it by a small tap on the shoulder. It was the one and only Pillow, who looked pretty cheerful with a smile on her face. "Book, I didn't realize you were here!" Pillow said. "Heh, yeah.." Book replied. "Come on silly, we gotta get home and make the best cakes in a lifetime!" she said giggling. "Yeah but, I have no idea what to bake....and I'm a bit worried that I might not exceed Pin's expectations..." Book said with a worried tone. "Well, no worries!" Pillow said. "Why don't we just help each other?" she suggested. "Wouldn't that be some sort of cheating?" Book said. "Well, if it was cheating Pin would've said so!" pillow replied with a perky smile on her face. "If you say so.." Book said with a sigh.
Both of them exited the door and talked about ideas for what they were going to bake. Pillow said that that they could do it in her house since she has plenty of ingredients and decorations. Book agreed and they continue to stroll down the block.
Maybe if they try hard enough, they may both get in..
