It's 3:37 a.m. Hadley woke up to crashing noises. Her mother shrieked "MADDIE" followed by sobs and deep breaths. Hadley rushed downstairs to find her mom opening the door to run out.
"Mom! What happened? Is everything okay?"
"Maddie. It's Maddie. She was here! In this room!" Cried Mrs. Parker. Hadley hugged her mom, and guided her back to her bedroom. Mr. Parker met Hadley at the door of the bedroom and helped Mrs. Parker back into bed. Hadley got her a glass of water. "She's doing it again." Hadley told her father. "I'd better contact her psychologist again..." Replied Mr. Parker. These actions are common for Mrs. Parker, and they have been going on for 3 years. "You can go to sleep now Hadley. You have a test tomorrow." Said Mr. Parker. "Ok goodnight." Replied Hadley.
Hadley had a hard time falling asleep. Her head was filled with questions nobody has answers to: Why does this happen to her mom? Of all families, why did this one have to lose a kid? Who took Maddie? Where is she now? Is she okay?
