This is just my interpretation of how Children of Light 'Grow up'.
In my headcanon, Skykids count their age in Seasons.
Newborn
• Less than 0 Season old
Newborns stay at the Isle of Dawn where they shall wait for any willing Caretakers or Guides (Older Skykids).
Moth / Toddler
• About 1-2 Seasons old
All Moths should have a Caretaker/Guide by now; if not, they can freely explore regions up to Hidden Forest, in which the Elders or Spirits/Ancestors will watch over them until a Caretaker/Guide takes the Moth under their wing.
Fledgling / Pre-Teen
• 3-4 Seasons old
By this stage, the Fledgling is showing signs of independence and is old enough to explore all realms by themselves, including the Eye of Eden, though some still might require the comfort of their Caretaker/Guide every now and then.
Adolescent / Teenager
• 5-7 Seasons old
By now, the Skykid would have passed through Eden many times. They no longer require their Caretaker/Guide. Some might end up being a Caretaker/Guide themselves.
Mature
• Over 10 Seasons old
The final stage of the Skykid. From this point onwards, the Skykid 'stops growing up'. As they are considered children, Skykids cannot age past their child-like status.
