Present Day~

I call Chase on my walk back from my last exam. "I'm gonna be home soon. I can't believe I just finished my last ever college exam!" I exclaim. "Good job Lizzy! I'm so proud of you bub. I'll see you when you get home. Love you, mwah" He says before hanging up. I walk up the stairs to the dorm and open the door, kicking off my shoes and throwing down my backpack. I run into Chase's room and jump onto his bed. "Hey bub, how was it?" I hear him ask from the hallway. "Too tired. Need food." I groan into his pillow. He sits down next to my feet. "Do you want Yoro's?" he asks, laying down next to me. I shoot up and run to get my crocs on. "I'll take that as a yes then" He laughs as we race to the truck. "Do you want to pick up Molly on the way?" He asks when he starts the truck. I sigh. "No. She hasn't been acting like herself since she got with Bryce." I say sadly. Chase raises his eyebrows. "I noticed she hasn't been over much lately. I guess that's an explanation." He shrugs, now focused on the road. "Well, are you ready to leave this place for good next week?" He asks. "But you'll be here, I can't leave you, Bub." I sigh, almost whining. He glances at me, apology written all over his face. "It's just one more summer semester for me, Liz. I'll be back home with you before you even know it." He winces at his own statement. "You're my home, bub. It's just been the two of us for so long. I don't know if I can go back to Florida without you. Our apartment will be so lonely. I'll  be so lonely." I say, my voice cracking. He parks on the street outside of Yoro's. "You'll be fine, love." He says, turning the car off and leaning across the center console. He grabs my chin and moves my head to face his. "I'll be home soon. You've work to look forward to as well, remember?" He asks. I nod slowly. "Please don't make me leave yet. Just let me stay until you finish." I beg him. He rolls his eyes. "Lizzy, you know just as well as I do that you can't. Now come on, let's go get some ice cream." He says, releasing my head and hopping out of the car. We grab our ice cream and settle into the corner booth. We laugh over nothing and tell bad jokes. He lets me drive back to our dorm, and I see his girlfriend, Sarah through the window. "Sarah's here again." I sigh, parking. "I broke up with her a couple days ago. She was just another whore of the month." He laughs. We make jokes about her as we walk up the stairs and down the hallway. She storms out into the hallway just as we turn down it. "Of course you're with her." She glares at me. I look up at Chase, his face turning angry. "You've to pick, Hudson. It's me or Elizabeth." She snarls. His eyebrows furrow, and he grabs my hand. "This decision will always be easy. It's Liz. Fuck off, love." He smiles at Sarah. We continue down the hallway, laughing. We both collapse onto the couch when we get inside, kicking our shoes in the general direction of the entryway. I curl into Chase, his arms open and waiting for me. "What are we vibing with tonight?" He asks "Definitely feeling the little mermaid tonight." I nod confidently. I hear the TV turn on, and soon after Chase's snores. I carefully remove myself from the couch, going to check my final grades. I save the exam I took earlier for last. I failed it. I click into my email and see if the professor has emailed me about it. Sure enough, waiting for me: See you again this summer semester! I close my laptop and slide down the wall, pulling my knees to my chest. After a few minutes, I walk back to the living room and throw a blanket over Chase, and go to my room. I fall asleep slowly, watching Netflix from my desk chair.

Hey besties! I think instead of updating twice a week I'll update as often as I can. I wrote the whole book inside of a spiral notebook, so it's taking me a bit to transfer and edit from that to here. I'm gonna keep moving/releasing chapters as much as I can for today.
