Derrick
I step out of the car glancing up at the skyscraper before walking into the building. I show my badge to the waiting security though they all know who I am so it's a pointless action. Everywhere around me people are busy doing something as they should be. I acknowledge the lady at the front desk with a nod before going to my personal elevator. I swipe my keycard across the scanner and it opens. Stepping onto the elevator I press the number thirty before pulling out my phone checking over emails. Once the elevator dings letting me know I've reached my floor I step off not bothering to look up from my phone. They all stand as I walk by-per usual-going to my office.
"Good morning Sir" I hear somebody say.
I look up to see Jessica standing there. I give her a blank look and she giggles taking my bag from me. She hands me my coffee before following me into my office. Jessica is my personal assistant though she often thinks she's my mother. Everybody else thinks she's deserves to be modeling somewhere. She has long legs, sun kissed skin, long black hair, and green eyes that anyone could get lost in. Just because I run my company doesn't mean I don't hear the pointless gossip of the people who work for me. It's always great to keep your ear to the ground when running a company such as mine. I glance out the ceiling to floor windows overlooking the city before taking a seat in my desk chair.
"What's for today?" I ask her as she takes a seat in front of my desk.
"Mr. Jones will be here at ten for your meeting. You have a twelve o'clock conference with overseas buyers. At one thirty you have the meeting with marketing. Three is the meeting with Karen and her crew for the new hotel in New York. At four you take your beautiful personal assistant out to eat." I roll my eyes and she continues, "Then five thirty is the video meeting with the west coast distributers."
I nod "great, can you get me-"
"Bacon, egg, and cheese bagel? It's next to the keyboard" she interrupts before walking out my office.
"Nobody likes a know it all!" I yell.
I hear her laughter then I turn my computer on before grabbing my sandwich and taking a bite. I turn my chair to look back out the windows. The view is amazing but when you are on the top floor of a thirty floor building, how could it not be amazing? Jess thinks I like it because I get to look down on people. What can I say? I've worked my ass off to get a view like this. I'm one of the few millionaires under thirty. I've had to sacrifice a few things to get to the top but who hasn't. I have other people I have to provide for and one wrong move or one bad decision then the lives of other people are in danger. I have to follow my gut and the voice in my head to make the right moves. It hasn't failed me yet, therefore I'll continue to do any and everything to make sure those close to me are provided for. It isn't long before I hear Jess's voice again.
"Mr. Jones is here, would you like me to lead him to the conference room?" She asks over the speaker.
"No, send him in," I reply cleaning up my mess.
My door opens revealing a grinning Jessica followed by a tall olive skinned man. His hair is dark brown and wavy, it's cut shorter on the sides and pushed up in the front. I resist the urge to roll my eyes knowing exactly why my assistant is grinning so hard. Women, always a sucker for built men with bright blue eyes.
"Can I get you something to drink Mr. Jones?" she asks politely.
"A water would suffice please," he says.
She nods before walking out my office, not bothering to ask if I want anything. Here I thought she was my assistant not some other guy's assistant.
"Have a seat," I say motioning to the seat in front of my desk. We both sit down just as Jessica walks back in with his water. "Could I-"
She places a mug on my desk interrupting me yet again. She smiles before kissing me softly and walking out the room. I turn to face the man raising my eyebrows for him to start speaking. He takes my cue pulling out papers from his briefcase. He talks about the development of a new port and the profit margin for both companies with the opening of the new port. I let him pitch his idea not bothering to interrupt him. I'm not stupid, this new development and collaboration is more for his benefit than it is for me. Yes, I'll make something off of it yet it'll still be more profit for his company. I don't like to be approached as if I'm stupid. The fact that he's still sitting across from me trying to undermine my intelligence is really starting to piss me off.
"Mr. Jones I appreciate what you're trying to do but what I don't appreciate is the way in which you are trying to do it. We both know this development is more beneficial for you than it is for me. I see profit for my company so I'll agree. We'll have papers drawn up and my assistant will be in touch" I state cutting off his pitch. I stand up letting him know that this meeting is over.
He grabs his things before standing up. "Thank you for your time" he says holding out his hand.
I shake his hand tightly and a million sparks run through my body. You've got to be fucking kidding me. I automatically pull my hand away from his grip. This cannot fucking happen especially with this guy. I'm not fucking gay at all. He's staring at me which is starting to piss me off more.
"Stop fucking staring at me!" I can't help but to bellow.
He jumps a little, "are you going to reject it?" he asks his voice cracking just a little.
"I don't know."
"You can't I won't fucking let you," he growls.
I hate that him yelling at me made my dick twitch. I need to fucking think without him in the room. If he stays any longer I will either rip his throat out or fuck him on my mahogany desk until he can't walk. Damn it, I shouldn't be thinking like this over a guy. I like females and I love fucking females.
"Jessica!" I yell.
She rushes into the room, "Yes Der?"
"Can you show Mr. Jones out?"
"I can see myself out when I'm ready," he states dryly.
She walks closer to me, "you okay?"
I sigh before nodding and she kisses me softly before walking out the room. "Would you calm the fuck down," I groan getting a headache.
"It'd be best if she knew her place around you," he growls.
"She does and it'll never change. Can you leave now?" It's actually killing me to be rude to him. I fucking hate this bullshit. I hate what it means for me going forward and I hate that it's happening right now of all times.
"I'm not leaving until you say you're not going to reject it."
"I'm not going to fucking reject it now get the hell out!" I bellow out in anger.
"I'll be back" he states before walking out my office.
I take my seat turning to look out the window. This is complete and utter bullshit. Why me? What did I do to deserve this? Sure I haven't been waiting. I'm fucking twenty-five for haven sakes, why would I wait? I'm not fucking gay anyway so how did this happen to me? I never thought about having male. Hell I lost hope on having one at fucking all and this is what I get. It must be punishment for not waiting long enough.
"It's him, isn't it?" Jess asks quietly.
"Yea" I say through gritted teeth.
"What are you going to do?"
I exhale deeply, "I'm going to deal with my shitty fate and accept my new mate."
