"He doesn't mean it!" Yoongi raises his voice as he throws his half eaten candy bar towards the TV, aiming to hit the stupid woman in the overdramatic K-Drama.
"He says that he'll never leave, but he will. As soon as he gets bored, he will..." He trails off, blowing his nose in another Kleenex with one hand, grabbing the remote to shut off the TV with the other.
It's been just over two months since his breakup but with his birthday coming up in a few days, one of the days his ex had made sure to make memorable for him by showering him with gifts and attention, he finds himself caught in a pit of past memories that he can't seem to crawl out of.
This will be his first birthday since the breakup and he had no idea it was going to effect him like this. That it would make him feel this upset.
When he hears the metal locks on the door begin to turn, Yoongi tries to quickly dry the remaining tears on his cheeks as he sinks down on the couch, pulling the big comforter blanket tighter around his shoulders.
He knows it must be Jungkook coming home from work as it is about that time and he doesn't want him to be quite so alarmed when he opens the door to see that he's had a breakdown.
He's spent two days trying to put on a happy face for the younger as to not worry him, now it's all going to be for nothing.
If I stay quiet, maybe he won't even notice me and will just go to his room. He had worked another double shift today, he's probably too tired to want to chat anyway, Yoongi thinks to himself, fully convinced the plan will work as he pulls the blanket over his head entirely.
"Hyung," Jungkook calls out as he steps into the apartment. "I brought home your favorite! Jajangmyeon and kimchi rice," he announces cheerfully, juggling the to-go bags in his hands as he uses his shoulder to nudge the apartment door closed.
He then switches the lights on with his elbow before shuffling over to the kitchen table to set down the bags to begin unpacking each one.
Of course he decides to bring home dinner tonight, Yoongi sighs quietly as he pulls his knees closer to his chest.
When a good two minutes have passed and he hasn't heard anything, Jungkook sets down the last container, wiping his palms on his jeans before turning to walk to Yoongi's room.
He checks his watch on his way, seeing that it is almost nine so Yoongi should have been home for a while now.
"Hyung?" He calls when he gets to his roommate's bedroom door.
The door is slightly ajar, which is out of character for Yoongi to do when he isn't at home, and the light is off.
Jungkook pouts his lips out, feeling puzzled, before he turns to walk back towards the living room.
He slides his phone out of his pocket, ready to dial Yoongi's number when he steps on something mushy.
"What the hell?" He mumbles.
He looks down, glad he had yet to remove his shoes, as he sees a candy wrapper sticking out from under his shoe. He bends down to untie and remove his shoe when a gravely voice is heard.
