Jungkook had kissed Yoongi more times than he could count, but still, somehow, every kiss they shared was something familiar yet different.
Sometimes he held depredations to the familiarity, tightening his grasp on what he was already acquainted with and knew well.
Then there were the times when he would jump headfirst into uncharted water and kiss Yoongi like his body was on fire.
Some kisses served as reminders that he wasn't and won't be lonely anymore. That he didn't have to feel empty ever again.
Those kisses could be painful as they were polluted with memories of past encounters with people he'd been interested in and how he'd hope things would work out, but they didn't.
Memories of times when he longed for someone to complete him– to make him feel whole– and every love interest just consistently falling short.
Other times Jungkook kissed with the need forget the pain of having to keep their love a secret.
Of having really no choice but to stand a little further to keep from holding Yoongi's hand.
Talk a little less to keep from flirting too openly. Or God forbid confessing with so many spying eyes and listening ears around.
To focus a little harder on the task he'd be meant to do to keep from looking adoringly at his boyfriend. His Yoongi.
Sometimes kissing Yoongi tasted like the night Yoongi introduced Jungkook to Irish Bombs.
Fun and spontaneous and a peak into Yoongi being the caring, sentimental man he is without being too outwardly so.
Some kisses tasted like unhealthy meals that fulfilled late night cravings and neediness for cuddles to go with movie nights.
Some days Jungkook thinks of all the times he had kissed Yoongi when it was just the two of them, hiding in their own little world.
The hidden kisses in dressing rooms before shows, both of them cautious yet so monumentally giddy.
Sometimes Jungkook tries to think about his favorite kisses but in the end he never seems to be able to decide which memory to put above another.
He often thinks about the kisses that don't need to be hidden behind closed doors.
The joy in how their band mates support them in the ways that they can be affectionate and in love openly.
He also thinks about the kisses that were just his and Yoongi's. The secrets that are kept with the one person who makes him believe in trust in a world that constantly challenges the concept.
Sometimes the kisses aren't even kisses at all, they're words and fond looks and two souls intertwined together.
Some kisses were just the fact that somewhere down all the roads they had travelled Yoongi and Jungkook had become Yoongi and Jungkook; the kisses being a celebration of that.
Sometimes, Jungkook kissed Yoongi and it would take all the effort in the world to keep from shouting at the top of his lungs how in love he was, opting for whispers against Yoongi's lips followed by more tender kisses.
Some kisses tasted like strawberries, gentle admiration and hearts swelled with adoration.
Those kisses were ever effortless– easy– and exactly how falling in love with Yoongi was.
Those kisses were hard to stop once they started.
They were honest, sometimes rushed, but never regretted.
They kiss and Jungkook can taste Yoongi's velvety smooth voice on those lips.
How it deepens when he raps. How he curses and uses harsh words in his solo music. How it raises in tone when he's embarrassed.
How it quiets when he gets sentimental or gets louder when he gets drunk.
How it drips with softness when he tells Jungkook he loves him.
Jungkook kisses Yoongi and all he can think is how he is Yoongi's and Yoongi is his.
Jungkook had kissed Yoongi so many times that he wonders why his knees still get weak. Wonders how his heart still flutters along with the butterflies in his stomach.
Wonders how kissing someone in general can make him feel invincible yet vulnerable at the same time.
He wonders how kissing someone can clear his mind of the stress and chaos their life can bring them.
How he can kiss Yoongi's lips and escape from the overwhelming pressure to continue to be the best in the world at what they do.
Sometimes he kisses Yoongi to ensure that Yoongi knows just how much he means to him. How much he cares for him. How safe he feels with him.
How lost he would be without him.
Sometimes the kisses are nibbled against warm skin in the comfort of their respective bedrooms, intensity causing them to whimper into each other's mouths.
Mouths that can't seem to form any coherent words besides each others' names.
Jungkook had kissed Yoongi more times than he could count until one day, he stops counting.
He stops counting because every kiss he shares with Yoongi is a promise of forever. A declaration of devotion. An invitation to cherish each other. To love each other without bounds.
Jungkook stopped counting because what's the use of counting something that you know you cant and won't lose.
When Jungkook kisses Yoongi he can breathe out past disappointments and deeply inhale the hope Yoongi gives him to replace it.
Jungkook can never decide which kiss is his favorite, so he kisses Yoongi again and again and decides that maybe the next one will be the best one yet.
Although Jungkook stops counting them, the kisses don't stop.
They keep coming until he's drowning in the love he has for this man who has brought him Christmas in July and sunshine on a cloudy day.
Jungkook had kissed Yoongi more times than he could count. And he never wanted to stop.
So he inks his body with symbols of his love and spends hours writing words to describe it.
And at the end of each and every day, he kisses Yoongi innumerable times more to remind himself that tomorrow, he'll wake up to do it all over again.
