Fall of a god, Error (NaJ) [DISCONTINUED]

Chapter Five

     Error stood to face Ink, he had really lost it this time, the whole multiverse was about to collapse around them because of him. "InK! YOu hAVe tO sTop! THe bALEnce-" Error started. "I don't care about the balance, Error. My job is to create and protect universes, and I'm doing that. Honestly you need to get better at your job and destroy them better!" Ink cut him off.
     Error wasn't sure what to do, Ink had started acting different, before he only ever showed positive emotions, which annoyed Error, but now? Now he seemed to only feel negative emotions, and the multiverse was suffering for it. He had completely lost any care for anything, only fueled by hatred and rage.
     Error wished he knew a way to stop him. But here they were, if Error couldn't stop Ink from creating this universe, it would collide into another one and set off the destruction of the entire multiverse. But Error was tired, and Ink still had plenty of paint in his red vile, which gave him extra strength while Error was still falling apart from their last encounter.
     So they fought, Error couldn't lose, or everything would be lost, as Fate kept reminding him. For once he actually agreed with Fate, he just hoped Destiny would also be on his side in this fight or he wouldn't even have a chance. Ink splashed paint at Error, and he couldn't dodge it before the paint filled his eyes and blinded him. Error screamed in pain and anger.
     He was really starting to miss the annoying squid he was used to dealing with. Blindly, Error shot a volly of bones at Ink, who screamed to signal Error hit his mark. The battle was intense, and Error was losing the upperhand fast. Ink got another hit on Error with his red paint that felt like fire. Error screamed and used an error gaster blaster, missing.
     Ink shot a volly of inky bones at Error, who couldn't see them coming. Error was losing the fight, but he couldn't let all of his friends die, Nightmare, Dust, Horror, even Blue was his friend even after he kidnapped him so long ago. He couldn't lose this fight or he would lose them all.
     Error got hit again and again, he hardly ever got a hit on Ink, he couldn't keep him in place with his strings long enough to attack. Ink smacked Error over the head with his Broomie, Error's world went black after that.
     When Error woke up, Ink was almost done making the AU. "NO!" Error shouted, rushing forward to stop him, but he was already too late. He had lost. Error heard Destiny's voice in his mind, it's not over yet, protect as many AUs as you can, but make sure the original universe isn't destroyed. If you can keep them out of harms way for long enough, I can fix this. Error hoped Destiny was right.
     "INk, yOuR jOB is To PROtecT thE AuS, rIGhT? STARt doiNG iT aNd mAYbe wE cAN sTIlL sAvE thE MULtiveRSe!" Error said. Ink laughed, "Sure thing, Glitchy." He opened a portal under himself and left, ironically giving Error a peace sign with his hand as he left. The new AU was already falling apart as it collided with the one next to it, beginning the chain reaction.
     Determined to save what he could, Error popped into the Bad Sanses' base and teleported in front of the whole group. "Hello Error, what's up?" Nightmare asked. "NiGHt, hE dID iT, The muLTIverSe is coLLaPSinG. WE hAVe tO pRotECt UndERtALe aT alL coSts, aLOng wITh aS mAnY Aus aS WE Can, ANd maYBe sOMe oF thIS wILl suRViVe." Error said quickly. Nightmare had a dark expression at his words and nodded.
     "Dust, Killer, Horror, I need you defending as many AUs as you possibly can, me and Error will protect Undertale, got it?" Nightmare ordered. The Murder Time Trio nodded and left to see what they could do, understanding what was at stake.
     Nightmare and Error teleported into Undertale, explaining the situation to Classic Sans a fast as they could. Then Error had to jump next to the universe to wrap his strings around a dying AU nearby and hold it back from Undertale, Nightmare did the same with another collapsing AU with his tentacles.
     Doing so was difficult on them both, but they managed to stop the universe from destroying the original timeline. Error jumped to the next one and ended up holding back two AUs, which he managed to get to fall in the other direction.
     He saw some of his friend's AUs dying close by, but there was nothing he could do for them, if Undertale collapsed, everything else would be destroyed too. Nightmare's tentacles got destroyed after holding back a few AUs, so he went into Undertale and blocked as much debris as he could from hitting Undertale, Sans helping him.
     The void collided with the Anti-void, but Error wasn't dusted by it.
     Horror, Dust, and Killer did their best to protect the other AUs, but they couldn't hold back collapsing worlds as long as Error and Nightmare could, so some of them fell apart. Error's original AU was destroyed, the original Aftertale, if Error wasn't an anomaly, he would've turned to dust where he stood.
     They saw Ink and the Star Sanses gathering together as many Sanses as possible to try and stop the destruction of the multiverse, but even as they all tried, they began turning to dust protecting AUs. Error was pissed at Ink for doing this, so many lives were being ruined before his eyes but it was too late to do anything about it, and it was Ink's fault. Ink didn't even feel bad about it, but there was nothing Error could do now.
     Error turned in time to see Dreamtale collide with another AU. "NO!!! NiGHtmARe!" He yelled, turning to see his best friend turn to dust. Dream was also dusted by that. As time passed, he saw Dusttale, Horrortale, and Killertale all collide with other AUs, leaving him as the only Bad Sans left.
     Error barely noticed the tears falling out of his eyes, he had to keep fighting, it wasn't all gone yet and Undertale was still standing. Hope grew thin as he struggled to protect the original universe from collapsing. He saw Underfell bump into Underswap and they began to collapse.
     He thought Blue was about to die but then he heard Destiny's voice again, I know hope seems lost, but it's ready, I can save your world. I have to reset the multiverse, none of your friends will remember anything, some will never come back, but the multiverse will survive. She explained, Underswap and Underfell weren't completely destroyed yet and Error saw Fell was still alive, so he hoped it wasn't too late. "dO iT." Error told Destiny as he felt himself start to dust, he turned and saw why, Undertale collided with Underlust, he was too late wasn't he?
     Then everything went white and Error blacked out.

     When Error woke up again, he was in the Anti-void. He got up and tried to teleport to Undertale, nothing happened. Am I dead? He wondered, but this was definitely the Anti-void, so he couldn't be. Error was still covered in bruses and injuries from holding up so many AUs.
     He barely managed to do it, but he opened a small window portal to some AUs, they were still there, but not as many were around as before. Error realized this was technically the past, Destiny said to save the multiverse it would involve a reset, but he hadn't really known what reseting the multiverse would look like.
     He was relieved to see a new Dreamtale thriving, Nightmare wasn't even a goopy octopus yet. The Murder Time Trio weren't around yet, but Error knew they came much later on.
     Error didn't know why he even remembered anything if everyone else forgot. He wondered if Ink remembered what happened too.
     He heard Destiny speak in his mind yet again, Your awake! That's good to see, I was getting worried. What do you mean? You've been asleep since the reset, and the multiverse started over a few thousand years ago. What?! Your injuries were much worse then Ink's were, so he's been creating the multiverse again. I'm surprised you still remember, even Ink forgot.
     Why am I stuck in the Anti-void? And what's going to happen in the future, will Ink ruin everything again? Your stuck here because this is technically before you were released from the Anti-void. And Ink might do it again, but he might not, try to keep him out of trouble once you get out of here. Is my original AU around again? Will I run into myself here? No, you became Error because of what Fate did, but they have no need to do it again because your still here. So you are still the only Error in the multiverse.
     Will the multiverse be the same as before? That's unlikely, but most of it should be the same, some of your old AUs may never exist again unfortunately. I'll leave you now, see you later, Error. Bye...
     Error sat there and waited, it reminded him of when he first became Error, which wasn't a very good thing. Being trapped in there drove him insane before, he just hoped he would hold up better this time around.

     Error woke up with a start, it was just a dream. That had happened a very long time ago, he ended up really being the only one who remembered anything from the first time the multiverse existed. After the original multiverse collapsed and restarted, he noticed the ones who had been lost.
     His old mentor, Error 404 never showed up. Instead he had to deal with Fatal Error, who hated his guts. He never technically kidnapped Blue the second time, so it took longer for them to become friends. So many AUs didn't exist again, but some new ones replaced them, including Xtale.
     His soul ached thinking about the whole event, he still missed his old life. But he knew that Ink had gone too far, he had used up every positive emotion he could feel in the first half of the multiverse's existence, so all he had left were negative emotions.
     After Ink lost it, the multiverse suffered, and Error hadn't wanted to destroy AUs at all at the time. It was both of their faults it had happened, but that was in the past, now nothing could be done about it.
     Error shook those memories out of his head and got up to see what Blue was making for breakfast.

     This chapter was pretty different, but I had the idea of Error remembering a past multiverse where different events took place and I just had to include it! This chapter is 1861 words long! I hope you guys enjoyed it and I'll see you in the next one!
