You quickly slip on your red converse when you hear the doorbell ring. Kai texted you and said he would be here in a few minutes, but you guess that turned out for a few seconds. When you open the door, you see him there, leaning against a black table where you usually do your work when it was sunny.

"What took you so long?" He asked, even though you knew he was joking.

"What made you come here so early?" You tease back.

"Oh, my Sensei was going to make me try my friend's cooking," he explained. "I could've sworn I saw a hand in there."

"You must really not like his cooking," you tell him, as you close and lock the door after grabbing your glittery red wallet with a bow.

"None of us on the bounty likes it," he laughs, as you walk with him to the arcade. Your house isn't very far, since you lived in an apartment with your dad.

You soon reach the busy place, Kai holding the door for you.

"Well, a gentleman you are," you tease.

"Hey, just being nice," Kai says stubbornly, closing the door behind him.

You both quickly get your tickets and run to game after game, spending up all of your quarters for the past hour.

You quickly throw a banana peel behind you when a Kai was ganging up on you in Mario Kart, making him spin.

"Wha-?" He said, before a smirk formed on his face. "your on, Y/N."

He quickly catches up to you, not long did you get hit by a red she'll, placing you in 2nd.

"NO!!!!" You shout, passing the finish line, while Kai placed 1st.

"Kai Smith, I deserve a rematch!" You yell, but not loud enough for the people around you to hear. "You shall not be beaten by the one and only Y/N!"

He laughs before putting in another ticket. "Okay, okay," he says.

This time, you both are head to head for first, while Peach was in front of you both. Kai sent a red she'll at her, knocking her back, while both of you were in 2nd and 1st. Yours changed rapidly, as so did Kai's. Quickly getting one of the mystery boxes, you do your victory dance inside as you both neared the finish line. Throwing the red shell, You ran past Kai and placed 1st.

"Yes!" You yell again, doing your actual victory dance. "Take that, hothead!"

"Not too shabby," he teases. "But I was actually going to let you win."

Both of you played a few more games before getting hot dogs at a nearby food cart as he walks you home.

"The day has been fun," Kai says, as they near your apartment.

"Yeah," you agree. "I hope we can hang out again sometime soon."

You wave goodbye before closing the door and heading up to your room, plopping down on your bed.

"Yes, I know, I know," you talk to your mom on the phone. "I'm just hanging out with my friend."

"Which friend, hmm?" She asks with a slight suspicion.

"His name is Lloyd," You tell her, fumbling with the hook of the boots. "I'm going to be back in a few hours."
