Welcome to the slender man portion of this series. First I'm gonna start off with research and evidence I've got dating him back to medieval times all the way back to 16th-18th century Germany. Before he was 'created' in a photoshop competition back in 2009, (June 10th). There was already myths of a faceless entity such as 'Der Ritter'.
Die Geschichte des Ritters or The Tale of the Great and Noble Knight, is a German folktale from around the Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg in South-West Germany.
It tells of a brave knight appointed by the church to slay a great evil who had been stealing children from a local village. It is thought to be one of the earliest examples of The Slenderman or Der Großmann as he would later be known as in Germany.
At the time he was refered to as Der Namenlose (The unnameable/unspeakable one), and Der Unheilige (The Unholy).

The children that do go to the forest late at night get chased by Der Großmann. He will proceed to chase the children and once caught up, he will take them to a fate unknown. (Black eyes children?) The chase would stop when the child returns home and confess to their parents that they have disobeyed their parent's warnings and had gone to the forest. However, other stories were told differently.
Some stories tell that a way Der Großmann lures children into his forest is by haunting children, whispering voices in their head to come follow him. Those that do, again, gets taken away to a fate unknown. A few other stories state that Der Großmann would tap at the window of a child that stays up too late and he would take them to, as the legend repeats, a fate.
It's told that Der Großmann is incredibly tall, really thin, and that he has multiple upper limbs. That way, he can hide behind the trees of the Black Forest. Der Großmann uses his upper limbs to capture and take his victims away. His facial features, on the other hand, is described in many ways. Some say that he has pearl orbed eyes and no face. Others describe him to be faceless but left with a gruesome large smile.
Appearance of slender man: tall, (8-12 ft), optional- tentacles, black suit and tie, and a faceless besides facial features such as bone structure.
He cares deeply of his children/proxy's. Jeff the killer, ticci Toby and Sally Williams to name afew. (Id list them all but it would be a very long list) with Nina being the latest addition. Slender man is the cause of black eyed children. He interacts with humans by stalking and 'toying' with them.
If stalked by him the outcomes will be death or made into a proxy. Now I'm going to list the symptoms of 'the obsession' and then the 'slender sickness' of course if you have many of these you could need medical attention or slender man has his 'eye' on your at the moment.
The obsession. Symptoms:
-urge to draw the operator symbol (an 'O' with a 'X' in the middle of it)
-carving/drawing the operator symbol on one selves body.
-irrational need to search/investigate the slender man
-thinking about him a lot
-worshiping/strong feeling of connection to slender man
-dreams about him
-wanting him to stalk you
-wishing to become a proxy
Now the symptoms of being stalked by him
-unexplained nose bleeds
-random coughing fits
-paranoia
-unexplained exhaustion
- fever/slight cold
-memory loss/amnesia
-psychotic thoughts/tendencies
-frequent headaches
-nausea
-diarrhea
-tired/unmotivated
-unexplained aches and pains
-deja vu
-loud sharp ringing in ears
-throat pain/hard to swallow
-not hungry/feeling full or sick after a few bites
-mood swings
-avoiding people
-easily annoyed by people
-scary dreams involving slender man
The theorized order of illness is as follows:
Stalked:
Nose bleeds with fever like the common cold, mild amnesia
First Encounter:
Nose bleeds, exhaustion, nausea, strong cough, vomiting, amnesia, slight signs of radiation poisoning, aches and pains, slight trauma of the eyes (i.e. blood shot, vesial popping etc...), deja vu is commonly seen at this point.
More than five (5) sightings:
Coughing up blood, blood in vomit, many signs of radiation exposure, painful breathing, difficulty in swallowing, violent convulsions and major amnesia
