Chapter 1

Several maids and other staff frantically rushed around as news of the princess's return spread throughout the people of the imperial palace.

As the North palace was fixed to it's former beauty, the panicked movements of the palace staff caught the attention of a certain white haired concubine.

Rashta watched as different maids whizzed past her during her walk around the central garden. Her curiosity growing the more she watched. Turning to her temporary maids, she spoke up.

"Rashta wants to know why that palace is getting cleaned and decorated"

A certain thought drifted into her mind, 'Is his majesty going to gift me a palace of my own, like the empress??! ' although this was quickly shot down once the maids answered her question.

"Her highness, Princess Rieka will be coming back. I'm sure you will get along with her, Lady Rashta" the maid says with a smile. 

"Princess Rieka? Who is she, Rashta would like to know"

Her maids then spoke up.
"The princess is his majesty's younger sister"
"She was greatly favored by the previous emperor so she was gifted the North palace"
"And if his majesty were ever to step down, she would be first in line to take the throne"

As the maids continued discussing about the princess, a new plan had started formulating in Rashta's head.
'If I befriend the princess, then I can ensure that I will never loose his majesty's favor! '

The majority of her walk was spent conducting a plan to win over the favor of the princess.

Crowds of children and adults alike all gathered to watch the gleaming carriage pass by them. The seal of the imperial family displayed proudly on it.

Taking a peek outside, the ravenette opened the small curtain and was met by the cheering crowd chanting her name.

"The princess has returned!"
"All hail Princess Rieka!"
"Princess please visit the orphanage!!!"

Chuckling at the requests and demands of the people, the princess decided to close her curtain back and relax some more before they reach the palace.

As Rieka was escorted out the carriage, the princess set her eyes on the royal couple and within a flash had her arms wrapped around her sister-in-law.

"Navier!!" She giggled as she felt the empress hug her back more gently.
"It's been so long Navie, I missed you"

"I have missed you as well little star" the empress replies as the two separate upon hearing the emperor cough.

" Brother" Rieka greeted as she walked to hug her brother awkwardly, her excitement dying down as they started speaking.

" We fixed up the Northern palace to your liking" The princess nodded to her brother's words, "It's been awhile since you've been home, so I'll show you the wa-"

"I appreciate the sentiment brother, but I remember the direction of the palace and to be honest, I'd rather Navier show me the way" She cut him off.

Sovieshu bit his tongue but nodded nonetheless, he didn't want to start a petty fight with his sister when they are only seeing each other after months apart.
