"Umph!"  I rolled over onto my back holding my ribs.  Note to self, falling from five feet in the air and landing on your stomach is not good for your ribs.

Now your probably wondering, Mia!  What's going on?  Why was the first word "Umph!"?  How did we get from an introduction to the middle of a story?  Well those are all really good questions.

You see once I realized the worlds problems were superheroes I spent a few weeks following Shadow Bolt around.  That's how I found out a few interesting little facts about our hero.  First, his alter ego is a sketchy looking guy named Blake carter.  Now you might not think Blake looks sketchy at first sight but follow him around for a couple of weeks and watch him randomly dissapear whenever there was trouble and you'd be sketched out as well.  The second thing I found out is where he lives, and alternately,  His super secret hide out.  You know it's funny how once you have the power to hide from anyone you think no one can ever follow you.

Now you'r probably wondering, but wait!  what happened during the time you followed Shadow Bolt around?  Well let me tell you... Absolutely nothing.  I was gathering in tell and other than a few shoot outs nothing exciting happened.  Even then the police had the problem under control by the time Mr. Carter arrived.  He was just there for show.  So instead of giving you some filler chapters where I try to glamorize the tiniest little things I decided to spare you and myself the trouble and jump right into the fight.  Now where were we?  Ah yes.

"Give up Bolt!"  I yelled groaning as I stood up holding my ribs.  I swear I could hear them cracking and popping every time I took a breath.  Shadow bolt appeared in front of me.  "I should be saying that to you mam.  I mean you are the one with the broken ribs."  He said.  How funny he looked almost worried.

I rolled my eyes.  "Well to bad I said it first."  Childish, I know.  But can you blame me?  My plan was slipping through my fingers.  Could I have planned better?  Probably.  But how was I supposed to know he wouldn't agree with me when I said he was the real villain?!

Bolt rolled his eyes.  "Listen, I don't know why you think i'm the bad guy here but i'm sorry you see it that way.  The police are on their way and they'll be here soon to make sure you get some help."  I growled picking up a crowbar abandoned on the ground.  "Oh you don't think your the bad guy?  How about you tell that to all the innocent people who have been killed just so you could save a few more!" I screamed swinging at him.  My side tweaked in pain and I shrieked falling to the ground.

Bolt stood over me for a second and I held back tears from the memories and pain.  He bent down and grabbed my chin forcing me to look into his eyes.  After a moment of him studying my face I saw the recognition in his eyes.  "You're the girl I saved from being kidnapped right?  Ha!  You should be grateful.  Those people were trying to kidnap you.  They were probably going to kill you." He said confused.

I snarled a laugh.  "They were trying to save me you moron.  They were my family and friends and you killed them!"  I yelled swinging blindly with the crowbar.  He jumped out of the way.  "You killed them and then sent me to a foster home!  It took a week for my family to find me!"

He watched me struggle to stand for a moment before speaking.  "Your the daughter of Ty Lydon aren't you?"  He asked. I sneered in what I assumed was his direction.  At this point I couldn't breathe properly  and it was affecting my vision, and balance.  My crowbar was now a cane. "The one and only you lunkhead."  Yes I had now turned to calling names.  If we were speaking in person instead of you reading this I would be dying of shame.

At this point I was trying to keep him talking.  I didn't have it in me to fight and once I was arrested I could call my father.  Being the mafia boss's daughter had its benefits.  Shadow bolt watched me for a moment before sneering.  "Sorry for killing your goons.  Have fun in jail."  He said, fading away into the shadows as the cops pulled up.

I wasn't worried.  Most of the ones present were loyal to dad. I watched closely and could barely make out Shadow Bolt watching from the shadows.  Coward.  He should have just killed me now.  It's not like he'd have any less blood on his hands if he did.

"You'll regret this."  I called out as I was led away.  "I'll be back, smarter and stronger.  You'll regret the day you failed to kill me.  I said laughing crazily.  I could feel the unease of the police as they stuffed me into one of the cars as I continued to laugh like a maniac until I passed out.
