I woke up, blinking my eyes open. I rubbed the dry tears away from my eyes, then sat up. Another school day... no way I'm going, though. I got dressed quickly, hoping to get out of the house before my father awoke. I tugged on my shoes, grabbed my bag, then headed for the front door. I crept through the house silently, then dashed out of the house.

I grabbed my board that was sitting on the front porch, which surprisingly hadn't been stolen yet. I jumped onto it, riding towards Leech's house. The sun had barely risen yet. I loved the feeling of being up before the rest of the town. The quiet was rare; the crazies being asleep along with the roaring cars. Leech's house wasn't far from mine, only a few blocks away. When I got to his street, I hopped off my board to check my messages. I had a billion messages from Emi.

I turned off my phone, sliding it back into my pocket. What a suck-up. I'll talk to her later. I knocked on Leech's door, and he opened it quickly. "Hey loser." He said as he opened the screen door. His younger sisters crowded the living room, all giggling at the show that was playing on the TV. He grabbed his board from inside the door, then nodded at me. "Let's go," I said.

"Where you wanna hang out today?" He questioned, getting on his board. "I dunno. Skate park?" He shrugged. "Sure."

"What'd you do with Damien?" I wondered. "Why do you wanna know?" He smirked, throwing back at me. "No reason. Just curious." Leech clicked his tongue. "Cloooseted." He hummed. "I have a girlfriend." I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "Don't make you straight. It's so obvious, man. Even Emi knows." I furrowed my brows. "Fuck off. I'm not a fag." He grunted. "Don't say that if you're not, then."

"I'll say whatever I want. It don't matter." Leech groaned. "How many times I gotta tell you? It do matter, you idiot. Come outta the closet before you say that shit." He reprimanded.

Whatever. I don't care what Leech thinks. I'll do what I want. We were silent for the rest of the ride to the skate park. When we got there, I glanced at Leech. He looked pretty upset, still not talking. I shrugged it off, and headed for the pit. He followed me, dropping in first. We skated for a couple hours, only stopping when we were exhausted. Leech looked less upset now. "Wanna go to the gas station?" I asked, tucking my board under my arm. "Sure, only if you pay." He laughed. I'd snatched a $20 bill from my dad before leaving this morning. "Yeah, whatever." I shoved him jokingly, then headed towards the nearby gas station.

I got myself a large Mountain Dew slurpee, and Leech got a Papillon monster. I payed for our shit, then exited the building. Man, slurpees are all I need in life. If I had to choose between a million dollars and a slurpee, you know what I would choose. "Wanna go pick up Emi?" Leech said, interrupting my thoughts. "Uhh, sure. We were gonna hang out later, so the three of us can fuck around." He nodded, pulling out his phone to text her. There was a part of me hoping I could avoid Emi, but I shoved it down. She was my girlfriend, after all. Leech informed me that Emi would be ready in 20, so we started towards her house.
