I just felt this never-ending pain in the back of my head and I knew I needed to see a doctor or go to the hospital, because I'd been blacking out and waking up for what it felt like years.

The worst thing that could ever happen to you is losing track of time.

When you stop to think about it, your entire existence is based on numbers. The date you were born, how many days you've been alive, how long does it take for you to do something... we only realize how much were enslaved by them when shit like this happens.

I didn't know if it was day or night, everything around me was just... dark. Every second felt like an hour, and I even tried counting but I'd pass out before I could remember the number.

The only thing I remembered was dropping the duffel bag at the storage unit.. and then nothing.

I could feel the dry blood on my head and my clothes, and also the smell of it made my stomach churn.

Fuck, I was thirsty

How long had it been since I ate anything? Since I drank some water?

Did I just not remember it?

It hurt.
Would Harry look for me? Did he know what happened?

I was assuming I got kidnapped, it was the only thing that made sense to me. My hands were tied, that was another detail I was sure of.

The thick rope around my wrists was too tight and I could feel it cutting into my skin, I was already numb though.

Why?

My head was throbbing with pain and I just needed to get out... I needed...

The sudden sound of a door being open, and then the brightness on my face, was enough to startle me awake, even though I didn't even realize I had passed out again.

I couldn't see yet, my eyes needed to get used to the abrupt change and it hurt.

But I could hear.

Whispers.

There was more than one person.

"He didn't answer the text!"

"Try again! We fucking lost them! Which target did they go to next? They're obviously going separate ways."

"I'll go watch one of the houses, we need to find them." What the fuck was going on.

I couldn't discern who was speaking or if it was a man or a woman, but nothing made sense to me.

"This one right here is insurance, we won't use him just yet. We need to get them both, how the fuck will we get another opportunity like the one you fucking lost!"

"Don't blame this on me!"
I finally managed to open one eye very slowly, then I proceeded to open the other.

There were shadows near the door, my vision was too blurry for me to see, but I could tell they noticed

I was awake because they stopped talking.

I heard steps, though...

I kept blinking relentlessly as hoped my eyes would function properly, and when I could finally see... the person was standing right in front of me.
