Karlie is feeling better, finally.  Which means that aggressive, possessive Karlie can come out.  And we all know what that means, now don't we?  Extra long chapter for you guys.  I hope you enjoy it!!

--------------------------------

Four days later, and Karlie was entirely back to normal.  Her eyes sparkled again, her face was no longer pale and gaunt, and she could eat whatever she wanted without fear of it coming back up.  Apparently the fact that she was a werewolf made her entirely susceptible to wolfsbane, but also meant that whatever didn't kill her couldn't affect her for that long.  As they shared Taylor's bathroom counter, getting ready to go out of the house for a while, it was strange for Taylor to think that four days before, Karlie had been dying in her arms.

As the model carefully applied mascara, Taylor leaned against the counter, studying her face, "You sure you're ready to face the paparazzi again?"

"Taylor, I was sick.  Not having an emotional breakdown.  I'm fine, babygirl, don't worry," Karlie told her, giving her a reassuring smile.  Before Taylor could say another word, glossy lips were pressing against her own.  The kiss was a little bit sticky because of fresh lipstick, and when they broke apart, they had both smeared and traded some of the make-up.

They looked at each others' faces and burst into laughter, and Taylor reached out, gently running her thumb just beneath Karlie's lip to wipe off a smear of red.  Karlie's lips parted, and she wrapped them gently around Taylor's thumb, sucking on it in a way that sent a spike of heat through Taylor's entire body.  She tried not to whimper.

Karlie released the finger with a soft pop and grinned with all of her teeth.  They looked sharper than normal, and Taylor watched the way pupils contracted and narrowed briefly.   It was intimidating, but it also was incredibly hot.

"Are we going to go, or do you need to change your underwear first?" Karlie teased, bearing her teeth once more, nose wrinkling.

Taylor smacked her on the shoulder, "Shut up."

"Make me!" Karlie replied, then raced out of the bathroom before Taylor could even begin to try.

Central Park was bright despite the cold weather.  The crisp air stung their faces but there was no wind to penetrate their jackets.  Just cold enough that it wasn't weird for Taylor to walk with her arm grazing Karlie's, her hands in her pockets so she wouldn't be tempted to reach out for one of the model's to hold it.

There was really no point to their walk, just that they wanted to get out of the house.  Their shoes (Taylor in high-heeled boots, for whatever reason) scraped on the pathway, and they meandered slowly, taking in the scenery and the way the sounds of the city seemed muffled.  Like the entire park was surrounded by a shield that blocked out chaos and held in peace.

Paparazzi had caught them outside of Taylor's apartment, but they'd managed to slip out of notice on their way to the park, and so far, they hadn't been bothered again.  It surely wouldn't last long, but it was something to revel in for now.

But, even with no paparazzi, there were still fans.  And it wasn't too long until an exuberant young man that looked like the epitome of a New York City hipster approched them, grinning widely, "Are you Taylor Swift?"

Taylor smiled at him, always charming, always willing to spare a moment for her fans.  Temporarily, she forgot Karlie was next to her as she talked to him, smiling and making eye contact in a way that was generally simply polite.  And yes, she did notice how his eyes wandered some and he seemed a little too excited, but she pushed it off to him being nervous to meet someone famous and didn't think much of it.
