5. playing with Fire

JASMINE'S POV

i woke up in my room, brightly lit up by the rays of the hot sun. I was wrapped in my silk sheets, alone and naked.

I didn't know when Liam had got up and left. I recalled all the events of night in my mind. Touching my lips i could remember how passionately he has kissed me, as if a man hungry for days had just been served his favorite dish. I didnt expect Liam to leave so eary. Prehaps he was afraid my husband could come home any moment.

I snorted at the thought. Nick had only come home for a night, and had left the previous morning. He had only come for his documents and a meeting with his board members. He couldn't care less of his wife.

I had confronted him before he left that he should just leave me, and he had responded to this by shoving me out of the way, which had resulted in my fall and i cut my bottom lip.
Nickolas didnt even stop to see if i was ok. I was so furious i wanted to hit him black and blue but when i got up his car had already left the driveway.

I so badly wanted revenge on that man, i wanted to rob him of everything he had. I had given him 4 years of my life. While he had only given me depression. I knew if i filed for divorce i would get nothing, he would live his life unaffected. I couldn't let that happen. I wanted to leave him penny less.

I checked my phone to see the time, 11:10am it read. It was almost time for my martial arts training. I quickly took my shower had had breakfast to join sensei in our house gym for some action.

The entire weekend had passed and Liam hadnt so much as texted me. Was i just another hook up for him? It didnt bother me if i was, i was just looking for more of where that came from!
Everyone in the city knew who i was, no one had the guts to even look at the wife of Nicholas Melendez. Liam however surprised me, i didnt think he had had it in him.

I contemplated on whether or not i should text him but a lady never texts first.

Monday morning i got get dressed in my office attire, body hugging nude colored v neck dress with red heels. Underneath it i wore red lacey sexy lingerie.

I had some big announcements so i called a meeting for the entire office staff. Everyone gathered into the boardroom, Liam took his usual seat at the end of the table, he was dressed in a plain white shirt and black jeans. He wasn't looking at me. I got the sense that he was avoiding me. What the fuck was his problem, did he not enjoy himself?

"Good morning everyone," i began, "as you all know around this time every year the company holds a party to appreciate all our hardworking staff members. This is year, we will not be having that party..."

There were a few awws coming from the staff showing their disappointment.
"Instead we will be a having a retreat, all on the company's expense. A two nights stay at the Dez resorts this Friday and Saturday inclusive of all meals. You are welcome to bring your spouses or families."

There was some loud cheering and excited chatter amoungst everyone. I could tell that they really liked the idea.

"We will have some team building exercises as well as some time for everyone to relax. Please everyone pass your details to my assistant Sofia and let us know how many people will be accompanying you. Have a great day everyone."

With that said i was gone. Back into my office.

Liams POV

I managed to avoid, Jasmine all day, not making any sort of eye contact in the board room or whenever i passed her by own my way to the break room for coffee.
I honestly didnt know what to say to her, she was married and what we did was so wrong.
I swore to myself that this was the one and only time that it would happen.
It wasnt that i didnt still desire her or that i hadnt enjoyed, it was by far the best night of my life.
It was filled with intense passion. My body wanted more of it but logic forbade it. There was no point putting my head inside a crocodiles mouth.
If i continued this and Nicholas Melendez found out i would be finished.
I had no reason to cross him.

When the clock struck 5 i made my slowly to the elevator.

I ran into it before the doors of the elevator closed shut. Fuck! I should have just waited for the second one. The gorgeous woman whom i had been avoiding all day had been taking that same elevator going from the top floor of the building down to the basement carpark, where i was headed.

We weren't alone however, Sofia her assistant was there with us. Sofia had her hair tied in a tight ponytail and she was dressed in tight skirt, a little too short for the office and a white tank top tucked into her black skirt.

"Hey beautiful," i say to her completely ignoring Jasmine. I didnt exactly know what i was doing but I wanted Jasmine to think i had moved onto my next target.

"Hi Liam," Sophia chirped.
I snaked my arms around Sofia. "You're looking so good today. You lost some weight?"

Sophia blushed, being flirted with while her boss was listening seemed to make her uncomfortable.
"Give me a call when you're free, id love to spend some quality time with you, remember how many hours we used to spend together," i whispered into her ears.

Sofia giggled nervous, "how can i forget," she whispered back. "I'll call you," she said as she got off the elevator and onto her floor.

I still had one more floor to go to get to my car. It was just me and Jasmine left in the elevator.
As soon as the doors closed Jasmine pressed the red button and the elevator came to a halt.

"What do you think you're doing?" She asked, placing her hands on her hips. "What the fuck were you trying to accomplish with that little show you put on here," she questioned pointing her finger at me and letting it rest on my chest, poking me.

"Excuse me let me just tell you that you're poking me"
I replied raising my eyebrow

" That was no show, and what i do after work hours shouldnt concern you" i said bluntly.

"Listen you piece of shit, i think its time that i show you your place, you know what, the way you are acting now makes me laugh, you think you are of some importance to me? If i want i can make your life so miserable that you wont have the audacity to even look me in the eye, you get that Mr Liam" she clenched her teeth.

" i can get you kicked out of this office anytime i want, and hell yeah you would end up begging other firms for a job, but i will give you such a bad review in your resume that you wont be even hired as a chauffeur. We slept together once and you started to feel you're a desirable hunk? Atleast have the maturity to talk to me."

"There is nothing to talk about Mrs Melendez, you're married and what we did should never have happened!" I replied. I had had enough of her.

"So this stunt you just pulled off was what? To belittle me?" She asked infuriated. "I know what i did, i know my status, sleeping with me doesnt give you the fucking right to judge me Mr Hunter! Who the fuck are you anyway, you're nothing. I promise you i will make you feel like nothing for as long as you work for me, you'd better take your ego and shove it up your ass you arrogant imbecile!"
She pressed the red button and the elevator started to descend again.

" before i leave i just want you to know i can ruin your life in a million ways before you beg me to kill you yourself," she smirked and left.

Oh my god. All that while she kept so cool and scared the shit out of me. The look on her face was so intimidating as if telling me that bitch i can put a gun at your ass and blow it whenever i want.
She was damn right, i didnt realize i was playing with fire. Now that i have pissed her so bad i just wonder will i even survive the next day or how will she control my life now. I was a dog tied to jasmine, who had complete control of me now.
