I woke up and checked the time. 1:45 am, great. Might as well make some tea and try to go back to bed. It's a bit colder than usual tonight, so Levy is probably up; neither of us can fall asleep when it's cold. I put on a long-sleeved button up over my tank top to stay warm and make my way downstairs, where Levy's sitting at her desk, stacks of textbooks and papers arranged around her laptop. "You're still awake?"

She's absorbed in her work, so it takes a moment for her to realize I've said anything. "Hm? Oh, yeah. Testing is gonna be a bitch so I'm studying when I can. What about you? Aren't you busy tomorrow? It's late." She yawns as she checks the time and I get the opportunity to think about my next words carefully.

"I'm off for the next two days, and most of my friends are studying right now so I don't really have any plans, how long have you been studying?" Perfect. Well, better than saying 'the only plans that matter are ones with you' or something equally cheesy. I could see her trying to do the math, her pen tapping against the side of her face.

"Uhhh, about 4 hours? 4 and a half? I'm almost out of water again and this bottle holds almost a liter." I walk over to her and grab her shoulder. She's wearing the light blue flannel pyjamas I bought her last Christmas; she looks cozy and I just want to hold her for as long as she'll let me, but I have a more important job right now.

"Four hours with no breaks? Up, right now. Studying can wait ten minutes while you stretch and use the bathroom, I'll make tea." I pulled her up out of her chair by the hands and sent her to the bathroom. "Honestly, that girl would study herself to death if I weren't here. I admire her love of knowledge, but..." I trailed. I grabbed our favorite mugs from the cabinet and started the kettle. I bet she hasn't eaten in a while either, I'll make a fruit bowl. I think meeting Levy was fate, she's been my best friend since I moved to Magnolia for my internship, and offered to help me find a place. Then, moved in with me that summer because she couldn't stay at the dorms and I had an extra room. The funny thing about living with someone you're close with is you get to see every side of them, and with a girl like Levy, I'm sure it was impossible not to fall in love. She walks into the kitchen with hunched shoulders and looking even smaller than usual. "Once I finish cutting up this fruit I'll help you stretch and you can have a proper break." She hums and sits quietly at the kitchen island. I pause my cutting and peeling to reach in the cupboard to grab a pack of graham crackers and place them in front of her. "Whipped cream?"

Her face lit up and she beamed at me, "Mmm, I love you. Lucy I absolutely love you, since when do we have graham crackers? And we have whipped cream? You're my hero holy shit." I turned away to grab the whipped cream and fight back the rising blush.

"I went shopping before I came home, I bought you some study snacks. You were asleep when I got here and I didn't want to wake you for just that, so I figured I'd tell you tomorrow. And I love you too." if only you knew how much. I pass the whipped cream and put the finishing touches on the fruit. I put everything on a tray– ignoring Levy's protests when I take the crackers and cream– and bring them to the living room table. "Lu~ why'd you do that? I take it back, I don't love you anymore, you're a villain, not a hero."

I chuckle and take her by the hands once more, relishing the touch for a moment. "If it takes being the villain to get you to take care of yourself, I'll gladly take the position. Now, time to stretch; come on up, up!" Guiding her out of the chair, we step into the living room and stand next to each other. "Touch your toes and hang, ten seconds. Lightly swing your arms and slowly raise back up. Reach for the ceiling~ and turn to me." We'd started stretching together after long days of work and school, to help release tension and relax for the next day. After a few days we tried to add different exercises to find what works best for us, and we developed a routine. As she turns to me I grab her by the waist, my face flaming, and I dip her slowly. Neither of us were very athletic, but stretching like this helped us stay limber so we didn't have any big health problems later.
