Ch 5: little date

Y/n's POV:

I wake up, feeling tired. They say you're supposed to be refreshed when you wake up in the morning, but I always feel like going back to sleep...

I force myself out of bed and get ready, then make my way to the table and see Tengen already eating breakfast.

"Good morning!"

He's always so energetic in the morning, just like Rengoku.

"Morning." I reply back.

I walk over to the toaster, putting a piece of toast inside, then pour out some milk while waiting.

"So, you having your little date with Tokito-kun today, right?" he asked.

"We're just going cloud gazing, it's not a date... and how did you know about it in the first place?" I blink in confusion.

"Mitsuri told me about it!" he replies enthusiastically.

Tengen, if you keep going, I won't be able to tell you from Rengoku, honestly...

Pop.

Oh, my breakfast.

I lift it out of the toaster, and slide it onto a plate and join my twin at the table.

We eat quietly, which is pretty rare. Tengen usually rambles on about something during meals, and annoys me to death. I can only assume he's thinking about something...

"Hey Y/n, how do you know if you have a crush?" he asks thoughtfully.

"Why are you asking me? Aren't you supposed to be the expert in this stuff?" I narrow my eyes suspiciously.

Could it be...?

Tengen sighs.

"I guess... Can I trust you with something?" he says hesitantly.

"Always."

"I think I like Shinobu, just a little bit..." Tengen admits quietly.

I've gotta treasure this moment. He's actually shy for once.

"Ok."

"I- that's all you're going to say?"

"Yup. If you like her, you like her. Not my business," I get up and start washing my dishes.

Soon, we headed out to school, and met up with our friends. I'm pretty experienced in hiding my emotions, so I easily kept my cool when talking with Shinobu.

I spend most of my classes staring out the window, quietly anticipating me and Muichiro's hangout after school.

"Y/n chan, Shinobu-chan and I can leave by ourselves. You can't be late for your little date!" I turn my head and see Mitsuri waving goodbye.

I wave back, and pack up my things, heading towards the garden. I see Muichiro already there, looking up at the sky. He already seems lost in his thoughts, I wonder what he's thinking about...

Muichiro's POV:

"Hey." Y/n smiles, sitting down next to me on the grass.

"Hi Y/n," I smile back.

"It's such a beautiful sky we live under, yet we hardly ever notice it, how sad..." she frowns, her eyebrows pressing together slightly while making that observation.

Don't make that expression, you look prettier when you're smiling...

I continue to stare at her, thinking about the same thing as I have been the whole day.

Y/n.

Her beautiful eyes, luscious (h/c) locks, the way she stares into space, blanking out on the world around her. She actually reminds me of myself sometimes.

She's so different from her twin as well, him being confident and loud, while she is more thoughtful and quiet.

I subconsciously tuck some stray strands of hair behind her ear, and she turns towards me, looking surprised. I jerk my hand back quickly, accidentally hitting it on the armrest in the process. How embarrassing...

However, I hear a small chuckle from her direction, and she soon starts laughing outright.

What a unique sound, unlike anything I've heard before... I want to hear it more often...

I wonder why she doesn't let her emotions out more, could she be insecure? That can't be right, she should have no reason to be insecure, unless she's been through bad experiences... I gaze up at the sky again, smiling contentedly.

She really is beautiful.

This chapter is basically Muichiro being a simp for you 😳

And also, I do ship Shinobu x Giyu, but I want Uzui to have a crush, and I ship Mitsuri x Iguro more. And Mitsuri and Shinobu are the only two female hashira.
