I stood there. I stood there until a little kid slightly rebuked me. It brought me back to the present. I stood at the middle of the pavement gazing at that white KIA car which was parked on the opposite side of the road. I started to hear people ranting at me, but vaguely. Glancing at my watch which showed the time 10:30, I quickly rushed and took a nearby cab to my office.
Even though 11 o clock was our deadline to enter the office, I always used to be inside before 10:45. After all, I have nothing to do at home. No daddies to say goodbye. No mommies to hear early morning scoldings. No siblings to take care or protect of. Huh!
Days used to be all good even everyone were present. Everybody must've felt that at any point of time. Well, I've been feeling it since years. Thinking about all this made me teary. I held back my tears when I reached my office.
Unfortunately, today I reached my office at 10:55, which led the whole office into a shock. Indeed, I too felt that the day was going to be bad.
"Wow! Look who's late." said Amber. She's the only person I enjoy talking to in my office. Rest of them are all dickheads. (Yes, including my manager)
"Just got caught up with some work." I smiled feebly.
"Anyways, it's good to have you here after a week." She gave me a little hug, "So I suppose your house is totally arranged because you took a whole week leave for it." She pulled back from the hug.
"Yep, you can say that." I nodded.
"Then let's partyyyy-" Amber stopped as she remembered that I hate parties.
It's not like I hate people dancing and drinking. I like that vibe. But I have dipsophobia, also known as fear of alcohol. The smell tenses me up and makes me hyperventilate. The last time I drank was when I was 17 and I ended up in a hospital for a day.
I switched on my pc, "I think it striked. Right?"
"Huhhh yes! But you owe me a treat. Okay?"
"Sure sure. One fine day..." I dramatically sang.
"When would that come?"
"One fine auspicious day."
"Cut that! But look, who's staring with love at you!"
Oh no! Again. Remember when I said everbody in my office are dickheads except Amber? You can take this guy into the exception too.
Jackie Ardolf.
I am working here since 1 year, but he joined only 6 months ago. Trust me, we never spoke until today. He smiles at me and so do I. Amber keeps teasing me about him and yeah, even Liz knows about him. Well, I guess even I developed a soft corner for him. The thing is that, he works in a different project, so never spoke at least professionally.
"I think-" I tried to protest.
"I would love to see all of you zipping your mouths." My manager interrupted entering into his cabin. Huh?! Didn't let me to defend myself.

It was lunch and we headed to the canteen to eat with hungry stomachs.
"What do you want?" Amber asked.
I usually go and get myself but today I decided to call Mr.Hanson while Amber goes to get lunch. I just don't like everybody involving in it.
"Pepperoni pizza? We could share..." I took out my phone and the paper that Mr.Sanders gave me.
"I've heard it's somebody's favourite. Some man called Jackieeee...." She teased.
I glared at her which helped only in earning a giggle from her.
