Forced to be in their enormous tower, you sat down in your armchair, gazing at them. You escaped from one prison to go to another. Only you could be that lucky.

"We'll ask you a few questions", said the red-haired woman in a quiet and calm voice, sitting on the couch.

The rest also settled on the furniture, never taking their eyes off you. What do they think you're about to do? Kill them? You snorted to yourself in your mind.

"Why were they chasing you?", oh, so predictable. You rolled your eyes, clenching your hands in your lap.

You were staring impassively at the wall, already thinking about where you would go as soon as they let you out of here. Where are none of their outposts stationed?

Where are they most likely not to be looking for you? You felt a presence in your mind fast enough to block it out, but at the same time too late because a few memories have already passed.

"Who did it?" you growled. Of all the things, you hated the most when your thoughts and experiences weren't just yours.

"Who is Medusa?" the younger redhead answered the question with a question.

"You shouldn't care. Don't ever do it again", you gave her a hard look, but she didn't care. You were pretty sure the redhead would use it the next time without hesitating.

"This is our business since we saved your ass. We need to know what specific shit that guy was talking about," you pursed your lips and they sighed heavily.

"Listen, we want to help you, but you have to tell us anything first."

"When I don't want your help, I didn't ask for it."

"But you didn't protest too much", said the brunet, lifting one corner of his mouth in a confident smile.

You shifted in your seat, and after a brief silence, you agreed mentally. Even if you leave, they deserve minimal truth.

"Medusa is a perfectly functioning organization that does human experiments."

"Something like a Hydra?"

"Maybe it's the first time that I hear of them", you shrugged, and they seemed surprised.

"Did you grow up under a rock or what?" asked the one who had metal wings before.

"No, in the lab", you answered honestly and without thinking, to which he was confused. You couldn't see the blushes because of his dark skin, but you were pretty sure it was there.

"Did you work for them?"

"If that were the case, they wouldn't have called me the ninth object, right? They were doing experiments on my mother while she was already pregnant. Unfortunately, she didn't show any special abilities. They wanted to kill her right away, but found out about me. So they waited until she gave birth. and then they got rid of her so that she wouldn't come back for me. "

"How old are you?"

"Twenty."

"You've been locked in one building for twenty years? You've never seen the world?" You didn't want their sympathy, you didn't need it, but you couldn't make them not feel sorry for you either.

"I saw it. Through the window or for a short while when we had to move. My life was filled with training, injections and research. For a year I had been devising an escape plan and putting it into practice as soon as they decided we had to get out again."

"Have you been running long?"

"Almost a month."

"Where were you stationed?"

"I don't know exactly. They never said the name of the city or the country."

"Why are they trying to kill you if you've been working for them for so long?"

"Contrary to appearances, Nathan would not kill me."

"His words and his execution tell me otherwise."

"Show in front of soldiers. Ordinary bullets will not kill me. Unless it would be several dozen shots straight in the head."

"What exactly can you do?" you pressed your lips together, letting them know you had no intention of answering that question.

"Will they chase you at any cost?"

"Yes, and they will kill anyone who tries to stop them."

"If you have special abilities, why didn't you defend yourself? Against them and us."

"I can't quite use my power because of this", you pointed to your neck, which had a thick bracelet on it.

"Why don't you get her off?" you shrugged, which clearly didn't satisfy them.

"You are a mysterious woman", you stared at each other with Stark, until he finally clapped his hands violently, scaring you so that you jumped up. "You'll stay with us."

"After all I have told you, you want me to live with you? Do you have any masochistic tendencies?"

"They happen," you wondered if that man's face ever got that stupid smirk off.

"I'm glad you suggested it, but I can't stay."

"This is the most secure building, think carefully," you bit your lip, not hiding that the truth was that their "offer" was very tempting.

"You can think about it. For now, you would need a bath and some new clothes. Wanda will show you your room", you frowned, remembering that name from somewhere.

You looked at the redhead from her toes to the top of her head, but no memory flashed through your head. The woman smiled encouragingly at you and gestured for you to follow her, so you did.
