"Elena? You still with me?" It was weird to hear his voice, she felt like she did not deserve to hear his voice after everything she had caused. And in fact, she thought that she was better off dead. Sitting on the other side of the of the wall and panting slowly, Elena nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm here. I'm okay"

Stefan shook his head, she was not okay. He really hoped she was, he did not care if she cheated or not. He could have forgiven her, hell he had already done that. All he really wished was her being in his arms and safe. "No, you're not. I can hear you breathing. Damon was right, you should have fed this morning. I'm so sorry"

Now Elena shook her head, she hated how he was apologizing about the things he had no control over. It was Elena's own choice that she did not feed and she was embracing the consequences. "Don't be. You had hope. That's all I ever wanted you to have and you had it"

"I love you so much" Elena heard the pain in his voice and she really wished that she did not. She closed her eyes, they both sacrificed things for each other. "Do you know why I was even on that bridge? I was coming back for you, Stefan. I had to choose and I picked you" Stefan started to cry silently, hoping Elena would not hear him. Elena looked back to the wall dividing and separating them. "Because I love you. No matter what happens, it's the best choice I ever made" And Elena meant the every single word of it, she really did. She loved him and not Damon, she was always going to love Stefan. She traced the wall again. "God. It sucks that I can't see you right now"

"I'm smiling" It was a damn lie because Elena knew how he sounded when he was smiling. However Elena was also a liar, her tears started to fall down silently. "Me too" But Stefan knew she was not. Rebekah watched them sharing their last moments, and for some reason she felt emotionally disturbed. She knew killing Elena was the only option to save herself and her family but she felt guilty even though it was something she would never admit.

Elena closed her eyes, already dim light was so blinding and she hated the way she was terribly weak. She embraced her death, she felt like she was floating. She was minutes away from the whiteness of the infamous death. Rebekah frowned with Elena's breathing became to non hearing level. "Elena? Are you awake?"

Elena did not answer, Elena could not answer. However, she really wished that she could answer her question. And Elena stupidly felt a bit more happier because Rebekah bothered to check if she was alive or not.

Her silence alarmed Stefan, he turned around as he was facing with the wall separating them and started to hit the wall. "Elena, please! Elena, do you hear me?" Elena was not able to answer, Elena could not even open her eyes and now, Elena was seconds away from her death. She did not really cared that she was not able to talk.

She had merely twenty seconds, for some reason she felt that the clock was ticking. Count down went down and in every second she saw another person's face. Isobel, then John, Jenna, Miranda, Grayson, Jeremy; people she expected to see from her family. And then Bonnie, Caroline, Tyler, Matt, Alaric; she was grateful that they were still alive despite everything. Stefan, Damon, Katherine; the three vampires who turned her life into a living misery but despite everything, she loved Stefan and understood Katherine.

And the rest was some memories, in every second she saw a new memory of hers. But then all she was able to see was him, she could not admit. The last thing she saw before him was the way she daggered Rebekah, she was still regretting it. Elena did not want to admit that she was seeing him as she was dying, that she was holding on his memories and his face to find comfort in the end of her journey. And then it was the final second, the only name she was able to hear in her mind space was his. Stefan's shouts did not even reach to her. She simply and slowly died.

Once she opened her eyes, she was in a grassy area. Sun was warm, she was able to feel it. She felt healthy and her clothes were clean. She smiled and looked around, it did not bother her that she was alone. And she did not feel alone, she was not alone. "Elena"
