SCARLETT POV
Let's start at the day of the accident.
It was around 7:30 am and I was on my way to college. The cold air brushed against my skin even though it was already June. I was tired from studying the whole night for my exams so I went and grabbed a black coffee at the local coffee shop. When I stepped outside with my coffee in my hand I saw a flash and I heard a few people scream. I tried to see what happened and walked a little further into the crowd when I saw a young man lying on the floor, blood decorated his face and it looked like he wasn't breathing. Someone called the ambulance and someone yelled to find a doctor in the crowd. I was a doctor in training so I knew what to do. I ignored everyone and quickly ran to the man lying on the floor. It looked like he wasn't breathing, I checked his heartbeat and I couldn't find one. Then I started reanimating him which took so long, but then finally the ambulance arrived. I was covered in blood and didn't know what to do. When the ambulance took him I was in shock and didn't know if I should stay. I was curious to see if the young man was going to make it.It was a scary face, but at least he's alive. At least I think he is...at first I couldn't remember what happened, but then it hit me. Someone shot him in the chest and then he hit a pole with his car. I was lucky I could escape before the police came and question me. I really wasn't ready to relive the accident. It wasn't like I did something wrong but I didn't want to be questioned about the accident. It just didn't feel right.
I have seen things in my life but this really kept me in shock, I couldn't think straight so I just ran of. I wasn't going to college, my clothes were covered in blood and my head was hurting. I kept running until I couldn't breath anymore and then a tall man grabbed me and I tried to scream but he held his hand on my mouth. When I tried to kick him everything went black.
I woke up in a dark room everything was blurry and it was hard to see. After a few moments I started to feel I was tied to a chair. I felt like I was going to fall asleep any moment but I then I heard a voice saying my name, age and college. I was confused and I felt weak in my arms. I heard he was talking to another man saying 'that's her'. I started to see again and saw two men standing across the dark room. They didn't see me waking up, so I took the opportunity to try and get the rope off my arms. It didn't work and the two men started to turn to me. I recognised one of the men. The one that I saw before everything went black. He had black hair and was tall, you could see his muscles through his tightly fitted shirt. He looked like a Greek god and had a sharp jawline and gold toned skin. The other man looked a little younger and had a childish look in his eyes. He looked like he didn't belong in this room, he had scars all over his face and I then I recognised him. I saved his life and now he's standing in front of me. I must have been here a few days already.
The first man with the black hair started to walk towards me. His face was only a few inches away when he asked 'Who are you'. I was so confused so I didn't know how to respond. 'Who do you work for?' He asked now in a angry voice. 'I don't work for anyone, why am I here?' I'm so confused right now, what did I do to be tied up on a chair with two men I don't know. 'I will ask you one last time, who do you work for'. It didn't even sound like a question anymore. 'I don't work for anyone'. I answered again 'I was on my way to college when the crash happened'. He was now frowning at me and I couldn't read his expression. 'What did you see'. He said with a bored tone. I saw a gun in his hand so I decided to answer honestly. 'I saw him getting shot and then he hit a pole with his car and no I didn't talk with the police if that was your question'. I said in a calm voice, I always found a way to remain calm in any situation and this wasn't an exception even though there was a man with a gun standing in front of me. I wasn't scared, because if he wanted to kill me he would've done it already.
'If you tell what happened to anyone you will be dead, so don't even bother to try' He said in that same angry voice as earlier. 'I wasn't planning on telling anyone about it anyway, so why are you keeping me here?' The two men walked away leaving me in confusion. The door wasn't fully closed so I could hear their conversation. I heard the man with the black hair calling the other one Romano. I couldn't hear everything but I heard Romano saying that the other one should let me free, because i saved Romano's life. He then called the tall man by the name Chase. I heard their footsteps approaching and let my head down. Chase took a few steps towards me and I could smell his woodsy expensive cologne. He whispered in my ear 'just a reminder that you won't tell anyone and know that we have eyes and ears everywhere'. I nodded and looked him in the eyes. I saw his light grey eyes already locked on mine and I couldn't deny how handsome he was, but he was the most cocky self absorbed fucker that I have ever met.
Then I said something that wasn't really smart. 'Maybe next time don't try to abduct someone and tell them what to do'. He looked at me with a bored expression and then laughed, Romano was looking at me like he was scared for my life. Chase grabbed me by the throat and said 'Maybe next time you should not talk like that to someone who could easily kill you right here and now'. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared right now, but I can't show any emotion to this motherfucker. He then took his hands off my throat and left the room. Romano looked at me with a scared but thankful look and also left.
I was left in confusion and didn't know what to do. I once heard a story from my dad about an Italian mafia boss who was ruthless because his parents were murdered by the people he hated the most. The only person he could trust was his capo, who was actually his little brother. The boss murdered everyone who tried to take him down and he swore to protect his family with his life. Nobody could ever come close to him. The reason why I know this story is because my father is a rich businessman. He owns multiple tech companies and is somehow involved in shady business that I don't want to have anything to do with. That's also why I started to study medicine to become independent. It was always my dream to become someone important in the medical field and don't be dependent on my dad.
10 minutes later Chase came in the room and closed the door behind him. He walked closer to me and again I could smell his woodsy scent. When he came closer he cupped my cheek with his hand and whispered in my ear 'Ragazza don't ever try me like that again, I know who your father is and if you don't tell me the truth right fucking now I will kill you. Why did you help my brother?' 'I really don't know what you are talking about, I saved your brother's life and this is how you thank me?' I said in a bored voice, not impressed by what he just told me. He looked at me with a angry expression like he wanted to kill me, but I couldn't care less my life already was a mess. 'Ragazza' he said again 'You messed with the wrong family, well actually your dad did'. After I could say anything I felt a sharp pain in my neck and everything went black.
