When he makes you cry/A Twist: Donnie

It's a couple weeks later, and you're hanging out in the lair with the guys.

"H-Hey, (y/n)? C-Can I talk to you for a sec?" Donnie asks you.

"Of course!" You say.

You get up from the couch and Donnie leads you into his lab.

He sits down on a stool, and looks terrified.

You go up to him and sit on his lap, your arms wrapped around his neck.

"What's wrong, Donnie-boy?" You ask.

He kisses your lips.

"What was that for? Not that I'm complaining." you say.

He doesn't respond.

"Donnie?" You ask.

He takes a deep breath.

"(Y/n)? Um... I just..." He takes another breath, "I wanna tell you something. I don't wanna keep any secrets from you, so I'm gonna tell you... I still like April."

Your heart sinks a little, but you try to talk to him.

"You have me. I'll help you get over her."

"You don't understand. I've liked her since the first time I laid eyes on her. I've tried so hard to get over her. I've tried everything. For your sake. I really care about you and I wanted to invest in this relationship. I've tried. I really have. I just... really like her, but-" he says but then you interrupt him by running out of the lab.

"(Y/n), wait!" He calls for you.

You run into the pit, towards the exit.

You eyes swell with tears.

"(Y/n), what's wrong?" Leo asks as you run past him and his brothers.

You don't answer him and run out of the lair.

You hear your name being called, but you ignore it and keep running.

You run topside and hide in an alleyway.

You sit in a corner with your knees to your chest and cry.

'How could he say something like that?' You think.

You cry even harder and hug your knees tighter.

All of the sudden, Leo appears in front of you.

You jump.

"Sorry, (y/n), I didn't mean to scare you." He says.

You look back down into your knees and continue to cry.

He kneels down in front of you and wraps his arms around you.

"So, I'm guessing he told you?" He asks.

You nod.

He just sighs and hugs you tighter.

"What was the last thing he said to you?" He asks.

"He... He told me that no matter how hard he tried... he couldn't get April out of his head." you answer.

"Maybe you should keep talking to him. Let him explain himself."

"What's there to explain? He likes April and... there's nothing I can do about it!" You say and cry harder into his plastron.

He rubs your back as he calms you.

"(Y/n)?" You hear your name being said.

You look at the source of the voice, to see Donnie.

He kneels down in front of you.

"Listen, (Y/n) -" He starts.

"I don't wanna hear it. I get it. You'll never like me as much as April. Good luck with her." you say, crying.

"(Y/n), you never let me finish. What I was trying to tell you was that no matter how much I like April, I like you more. Actually, I might like April better, but I love you more." He says.

"W-What?" You stutter.

"You heard me. I love you. And nothing's gonna change that."

"I love you, too!" You say and let go of Leo to embrace Donnie.

He carries you back to the lair bridal style and the two of you spend the rest of the day cuddling on the couch.
