Chains Of Time

Hidden Dragon

Emu and Surf had been flying for days, stopping at every oasis to stock up on supplies. Now they were very close to SkyWing territory and Surf got a little scared of Queen Merlin finding them, or what her reaction would be.

'Calm down Surf' he told himself 'Its gonna be fine' He caught the sudden memory of Emu saying he stressed too much the other day. 'I stress the right amount, its HER that doesn't stress enough!' He thought looking at her and then quickly back to where they were going.

A few minutes later Emu started him by yelling "Hey look! A cave! A big one too! We can rest there!" And then diving down to the entrance before even getting an answer. So Surf was forced to swoop down and join her.

"We really gonna go into that?" Surf said looking into the darkness and than at Emu. Before Emu could answer with something obnoxious like "What are you scared?", someone cut in and said

"I mean it's not bad" Surf was startled so bad he felt like he had jumped out of his scales. He looked up to a balcony like rock poking out of the higher part of the cave and grey-ish-blue eyes peering down at him and Emu curiously.

"Who are you?" Emu said not even fazed. 'How does one dragon have so much bravery' Surf yelped in his mind. The unknown dragon responded to his thought

"Born that way" which caught him and Emu by surprise "And the names Navi" The dragon said stepping into the sunlight which made Emu and Surf gasp "Nice to meet you"

Surf studied the new dragon, Navi, trying to make his brain stop spinning. She had a base of Navy blue scales that faded into a bit of a darker color, the glowing scales like Surf had but they were white and had a different wing pattern, but something about this dragon got even stranger, they had seawing webbing. But it was color like Nightwing Wing patterns with Silver scales making it look like stars on a midnight black base. And instead of blue wings, her's were a darker navy blue with black AND white scales speckled across her wings. "You look.." Surf started but Emu cut in

"AWESOME!" As she continued to circle Navi, lifting up her wing to see the inside and just studying every scale.

"Hmmm.. Your Sandwing friend here is.. very.. energetic?" Navi pointed out looking from Emu to Surf.

"Uh- Yeah, she is" Surf Admitted.

"The Names Emu! And that's Surf!" Emu said quickly.

"Okkayy- Anyways, what brings you here?" Navi said studying them both horn to tail.

"Were on a quest~!" Emu said excitedly

"Its NOT a quest" Surf said rolling his eyes "Its more of a search" He said fiddling with the Chains on his wrists.

Navi looked a little suspicious of him and then she looked like her eye caught on something. "Alright, Prince." She said looking him in the eyes.

Surf realized she saw his Wing Patterns 'Why didnt I think of that! She's part seawing ofcourse she would know the royal pattern!!!' Surf growled in his head and quickly looked up at Navi who had a smug expression on her face

"I dont know, why didn't you think of that?" She laughed. Emu just stood their shocked opening and closing her mouth looking back and forth between them like she wanted to say something but words wouldn't come out.

"WHAT!?" She finally managed after shaking herself

"Her struggle was almost painful to watch, but instead it landed under entertaining" Navi said raising an eyebrow with a smirk.

Emu looked at Navi looking a mix of Confused and Hurt and said "I dont know if that's bad or good?" She said tilting her head

"Dont worry about it" Navi said smiling smugly "Its like a combination of both" Emu seemed to forget about Surf being a prince with her new idea

"Hey wanna come with us!?" Emu said suddenly. Navi thought about it for a second before saying

"Hmm.. Sure I guess-" She tilted her head and turned around into the cave "Come inside though. You dont want to be out there tonight."

Emu and Surf followed into the cave after Navi. Surf was curious why Navi had said that but then suddenly heard thunder and became aware of the Raindrop sounds around them 'Oh- That's why' Surf thought

"Yep" Navi says looking behind her at Surf, than back up ahead. They continued walking till they got to an opening that opened into a large room with some beds, a lot of scrolls, a campfire in the middle, and Surf turned his head to the opening to the outside where the rock balcony Navi had come from was.

"Nice home!" Emu said looking around "How'd you get all this stuff? Its cool!" Navi just kept walking and layed on her bed, after a while she said

"Thanks" And rolled over. "Make yourselves comfortable and dont mess around with everything" Navi said as she drifted off to sleep.

Surf looked back and forth to Navi who was now asleep and Emu who was searching through the whole rack of scrolls. Surf wanted to get some sleep so he stopped paying attention to what they were doing and rolled over to go to sleep.
