Your first thought of waiting until he fell asleep on the couch didn't work.

You hadn't noticed it before, but Heisenberg was always careful not to put himself in a vulnerable situation.

He didn't take off his chain when he showered, he was careful not to fall asleep outside his room, and he didn't let you get close enough in any other way.

You were already on the verge of despair when, after a week, you still hadn't found a way to get the key, and you found it harder and harder to look at Heisenberg's eyes when you talked to him than to look at the necklace.

Heisenberg, however, didn't seem to notice your desperation.

You've found a comfortable rhythm by now, and admittedly you sometimes forget that Heisenberg is not only your roommate, but actually your opponent.

You have to admit that he has become a kind of friend, but you hide this development of your feelings from Chris, because he would surely pull you out of the mission on the spot.

And the extra money you would get is just too tempting to destroy this mission.

Anyway, you've divided up the breakfast preparation by now, with Heisenberg often taking over your day because his dishes taste better.

After breakfast, Heisenberg always goes to the factory to increase his army, or whatever he does there throughout the day.

Once he's gone, you'll use the calm of the morning to vent your frustration on his door, trying to break it down by any means.

This morning exercise, as you described to Chris, helps you calm down and think clearly.

Some days you then roam around the factory and explore it further, or follow Heisenberg to his work, which is really just planning on new lycons, or improving on existing ones.

Other days, the stress becomes too much and you stay at home until the closed door seems to provoke you too much.

On days like today, on the other hand, you use the time to wander around and make plans in your head.

You sit by a pond that you discovered only yesterday to sort your thoughts.

Apart from the key, however, something else occupies you.

In the last few days Heisenberg has been acting odd.

He is acting much more sociable than usual and coming closer to you more often than normal, which is a contrast to his initial behavior.

Apart from the conversation you had on the coach, that is.

The last few days he has put his hand on your shoulder a few times, for example when you were looking for snacks in the fridge.

Where Heisenberg gets his food, however, is still a mystery to you.

The most intimate thing he has done so far is to wipe food crumbs from your chin, which has been followed by an uncomfortable silence.

When he realized how close he was to you, he quickly withdrew his hand, blushed, and mumbled a soft "sorry".

At that moment, you again learned a new side of him, which is very different from his confident demeanor.

This has made you realize how great your desire is to learn more about him

You want to know the sides of him that nobody knows about.

Any of his habits, like the fact that he always goes back to the bathroom to make sure he has turned off the water, you want to know.

All the little details that make up his personality and fascinate you so much.

You don't know when you developed this interest in him, but you are aware that it will get in the way of your mission sooner or later, should these feelings intensify.

So, for the time being, you have repressed them deep in your thoughts.

This is a problem for your future self and will hopefully have to be taken up after the mission is over.

But why is he suddenly behaving this way?

Perhaps he feels more comfortable in your presence now, but actually he has shown no signs of being uncomfortable before.

Lost in your thoughts, you don't notice the presence next to you at first and are slightly startled when a hand is placed on yours, which is supporting you in the grass.

You turn and stare into Heisenberg's eyes.

Your breath catches in your throat, while your heart pulses in your chest and you consider whether it's because of the fright, or the closeness to your counterpart.

„Wha-”

He interrupts you, holding up his hand.

The nervous scratching at the back of his neck, which is what he's doing with his other hand, is another habit you've noticed.

Suddenly remembering it, your gaze wanders to your hands, his still laying warm on yours.

He follows your line of sight and quickly withdraws his hand, clearing his throat, he looks at the pond.

„There's something I wanted to tell you.”

His voice sounds slightly shakey as he speaks the words.

Probably to distract himself from the tension in the air ,he picks up a small rock and throws it into the pond, still not looking at you.

Heisenberg then takes a deep breath and looks at his now fiddling hands, in his lap.

„I like you.”
