Nurse's Office, End of the day

She quickly wrote out the pass and handed it to Duncan. " Y/n, Sweetie, please go with Duncan to the nurse's office. "  Courtney's eyes widen in anger and she whispered to Duncan. " Make her upset and I will make your life miserable! " Duncan rolled his eyes and Y/n stepped out of line. He turned to her. " Come on. " Y/n nodded and followed behind him.  

Duncan looked at her leg and asked. " Does it hurt? " Y/n shrugged. Duncan raised an eyebrow and asked. " Do you ever talk? All I have seen you do is motions and waves. " Y/n looked down and mumbled. " I do but you scare me..." Duncan's eyes widen as he heard her voice. " Why do I scare you? I mean, I don't blame you. " Y/n then mumbled. " I don't know..." Duncan deadpanned as he heard her answer. 

" Why did you sneak into class? " Y/n tried to walk faster to keep up with Duncan. " I don't do well with talking in front of groups..." She whispered and Duncan nodded. " I can tell. The halls are empty and you are still being quiet as a mouse. " Y/n looked down as she sees her knee bleeding a bit more. " A-Are we almost at the nurse's office? " She whispered and Duncan looked at her bleeding knee. " Yeah, only around this corner. " Y/n nodded and he walked backward. " What did you do exactly to make Eva so mad? " Y/n shrugged. " I don't know..." Duncan rolled his eyes and said. "You're just a magnet for trouble then. " 

Y/n's eyes widen and he opened the nurse's office door. " Duncan? What are you doing here? " The nurse asks as she looks up from her computer. " Tsk, it's not for me. " He points his thumb at Y/n who walked in quickly as he closed the door. " Oh, what happened? " Duncan placed the nurse's pass on her desk. " She fell from the monkey bars. " Y/n nodded and the nurse sighed. " Do you not talk honey? " Y/n fiddled with her skirt and Duncan said. " She's shy, I guess. She hasn't talked to anyone in our class besides like three people. '' The nurse nodded and turned to Duncan. " Can you stay here? Since she won't talk, I need you to stay here. " He shrugged, he couldn't care because it got him out of class. 

The nurse points to a chair. " Sit there, sweetie. " Y/n sat on the chair and the nurse put a rubbing alcohol wipe on her knee. Y/n winced and closed her eyes. " Sorry, but it keeps the nasty germs out. " Y/n nodded slightly and the nurse wiped the blood off her knee. She then grabbed a large bandaid and placed it on Y/n's knee. " Better? " Y/n nodded slightly and The nurse turned to Duncan. " What class is she in? " Duncan then said. " Mine, she's the new girl. " The nurse nodded and wrote her pass. 

" It doesn't hurt to walk does it, sweetie? " Y/n shook her head and stood up. " No, she's fine. In fact, she didn't notice she was bleeding at the playground. " The nurse then mumbled. " So she has a pain endurance higher than most. " Y/n walks behind Duncan, using him as a shield from the nurse's gaze. " Here, now go straight to class. " Duncan rolled his eyes and grabbed the pass. He opened the door and Y/n walked fast through it.

Duncan closed it and walked beside her. " Really? You can't talk to adults either? " Y/n looked down and mumbled. " Sorry..." Duncan then ruffled her hair. " It's fine, I guess I'll have to join the protect bodyguard thing huh?"  Y/n's eyes widen. " Y-You know about that? " She whispered and Duncan nodded. " It's pretty obvious, Mouse. " Y/n furrowed her eyebrows and asked in a whisper. " Why did you call me a mouse? " Duncan then said. " You are shy and act like a mouse. " Y/n shrugged and sighed. Duncan then said. " Can you talk in front of one of my friends? " Y/n titled her head and whispered." Why? " Duncan then said. " He thinks you won't talk to anyone besides Miss. Perfect. " 

Y/n then whispered. " Who's Miss? Perfect? " Duncan then said. " Courtney, she acts like she's the best at everything. " Y/n frowned. " N-No she doesn't. " Duncan rolled his eyes and said. " Sure, come on. The classroom's over there. " He turned to the left and Y/n fixed her hair. " I-I'll talk in front of your friend if you apologize to Courtney..." Duncan debated if the chocolate was worth it. '' Fine, I'm sorry about calling her that. " Y/n smiled and said in a soft tone. " Okay, but I won't say I won't hide behind you. " Duncan's eyes widen as he heard her talk, not in a whisper. 

He then smirked. " Guess you're comfortable around me now. " Y/n titled her head. " What do you mean? " He then said. " You're not whispering or mumbling. " Y/n nodded and he opened the door. Y/n walked in and Ms. Ginger walked over. " Everyone is packing up for home, do you have the pass? " Y/n hands her the pass and she smiled. " Thank you. " Duncan walked over to a group of boys and Courtney ran up to Y/n. 

" He wasn't mean to you, right?  " Y/n shook her head. " He was actually nice.." She whispered as they went to their desks. Courtney raised an eyebrow. " I refuse to believe he can be nice. " Y/n shrugged and whispered. " He was, he even talked to the nurse..." Courtney shook her head and smiled. " Okay, did you get your painting? " Y/n shook her head when Duncan walked behind her. " Mouse, hold your end of the deal. " Y/n turned and walked behind him to the group of boys. 

Trent then asked. " Did you talk to him? " Y/n nodded and Geoff looked at her. " She doesn't seem like she's scared of him. " Dj looked at her and smiled. " I'm Dj! Can I call you Bunny? " Y//n titled her head and mumbled. " Why? " Trent handed Duncan a chocolate bar and Dj said. " Because you're as shy as a bunny. " Y/n shrugged. " O-okay...." She mumbled and she turned to Duncan. " N-now apologize to C-Courtney. " She whispered and Duncan groaned. " Fine. " 

Trent's jaw dropped. " H-He formed a deal?! " Geoff laughed. " You never said he couldn't. " Trent sighed and Duncan followed Y/n back to her desk. Courtney raised an eyebrow. " What do you need, Duncan? " Duncan then said. " I'm sorry I guess. " He then walked away and Courtney was confused. " What was that about? "  Y/n then whispered. " He was saying mean things about you so I formed a deal for him to apologize..."  Courtney smiled and hugged Y/n. " You didn't need to do that. Thank you. " Y/n smiled and hugged her back. 

Ms. Ginger looked over everyone and said. " Everyone follow me outside to wait for your parents. " Courtney grabbed her backpack and Y/n grabbed hers. Y/n followed close behind Courtney as they exited the building. Y/n noticed Eva wasn't there. " W-Where is the scary girl? " Courtney then said. " She rides the bus home. " Y/n nodded and her eyes lit up. She ran towards her mother and her mother smiled. "  I see you made friends. Did you talk? " Courtney walked over and said. " Hi! I'm Courtney, Y/n's friend. " Y/n's mother's eyes widen and she smiled. " I'm her mother, do you want to join us for ice cream? " Courtney nodded." Sure, I walk home alone anyway. " Y/n frowned and grabbed Courtney's hand.
