Most people don't actually write prologues on Wattpad but I wanted to, so here we are. -💜
THEN
Matthias
Sitting on the sidewalk next to the cobblestone road, I take a drag from the joint between my fingers.
I'm wearing black worn-out jeans, a plain black tee, and my signature leather jacket with sneakers. My dark hair blows through the slight breeze passing by. It's humid as hell and I'm tired as shit but I force myself to stay awake. I have to.
I can hear the music blasting from here. The crowd's loud cheers. The sound of the tires screeching.
And I can't do anything to stop it.
What? Is my little 14-year-old ass gonna walk over there and try to tell those mofos what they should and shouldn't be doing? Please. I tried. I tried to warn him. But he won't listen.
He's going to lose.
I know it.
I can feel it.
And the worst part? He wouldn't even let me stick around to watch the damn race. So now I'm sitting here, alone. In the dark. Smoking a joint as if my heart isn't beating so fast I'm surprised it doesn't jump out of my chest and onto the pavement.
Then...I hear it. The screeching of the tires. The loud crash. The music stops and gasps arise. That's when I hear the final punch to the gut.
The explosion.
And all the memories come rushing back.
Anywayssssss that's it for the prologue. Whatcha think? Xx- Lea <3
