Volume 1 Chapter 1: Fresh Start!

Evelyn ran towards the school of her dreams, she was running a bit late due to a villain fighting a pro hero. She put on her inside shoes on and slid to a stop in front of her homeroom classroom. She opened up the sliding door and the entire class looked her way. Her ears slowly went down,"You must be our new transfer student from Scotland." She nodded her head and held out her transfer papers. The teacher looked around and said,"You are sitting behind to Enji Todoroki. Raise your hand so she'll know where to sit." A red haired kid with a serious look in his eyes slightly raised his hand. She rushed towards her seat and sat down blushing lightly out of embarrassment. She zoned out and heard the bell ring. She stood up to see her desk neighbor glaring at her. He opened his mouth and she flinched. "Hey I was wondering if you wanted help finding the next class." She opened her eyes and she realized that he was just nervous and not mad. She smiled happily at his request,"Sure, thanks for asking." He walked out of the classroom and saw a tired kid starting to wake up from his nap. "How pathetic, if you are just going to fall asleep then don't bother to come to school!" He smacked him on the head and left the room laughing amused. Evelyn's eyes widened and ran towards the door feeling conflicted about if she help the kid or not. She scoffed annoyed with herself and ran after Enji Todoroki. "Keep up, this school is like a maze first new people." She gripped onto her backpack straps. "So what was that all about?" She asked bluntly. His eyes widened slightly at her forwardness. "Oh that was nothing. Just me asserting my dominance on a weakling. By the way what's your name, you didn't get to introduce yourself?" She smiled slightly,"I'm Evelyn Jasmine, nice to meet you Enji Todoroki." He smirked slightly,"You paid attention to the teacher saying my name huh? That's great! So what brings you to Japan?" She stopped in front of the classroom with Enji looking a little nervous. "Nothing special just a fresh start." He nodded his head and sensed that she was starting to become upset. He opened the door and smirked slightly at her,"Don't worry about it. I don't care about your past, the future is all that matters. We have arrived at our math class." She looked up and smiled genuinely at him. They headed to their seats.

As the lessons went by in every single class Enji abuse towards the tired looking kid gradually got worse. And then it came to lunchtime.

A few hours later: (Lunchtime) Enji punched the kid in the stomach for looking at him and the new girl. Just before he could kick the kid while he was on his knees. He was yanked back to the ground. Aizawa heard his name being called it was his friend Hizashi. He looked up to see a unfamiliar figure standing in a defensive position in front of him. His eyes widened to see they were standing up against the strongest kid in their class Enji Todoroki.

Evelyn stood there in front of the bullied kid and brought out her claws. "I know I'm new here but I left my old life to escape the hierarchy of quirks. But seems like it's that all over the world. The teacher's are scared of you, the students are terrified to even look at you. You took me under your wing to laid claim to me. But unfortunately to you I'm not a pushover like everyone else." Enji got up and set on fire with anger. She turned around and looked down with a serious but confident look her eyes as she smiled happily. "Don't worry I'll make sure he behaves like a hero in training for now on. What's your name?" His  eyes widened in shock over her confident words. "Shota Aizawa, but who are you?" She laughed at him as she looked ahead. "I'm the new girl, Evelyn Jasmine. Nice to meet you, sleepyhead." She dashed forward and ducked a few seconds before Enji through his punch. She sliced upward and cut his chest. He stumbled backward but kicked upward. She just barely dodged his attack and rolled backward. She retracted her claws and walked towards Enji was he tried to sit up. "If I win this fight will you become my friend and rival?" His eyes widened in surprise at her gutsy request. Everyone froze in place and slowly got pushed down to their knees. Eve jumped up in the air and touched the ceiling of the cafeteria. Enji struggled to get up, he was being weighed down by the thick gravity. She flipped the gravity and fell back down at immense speeds. Everyone's eyes followed Eve as she drop kick Enji in the stomach putting him into the ground a few inches. As she landed Enji coughed out blood and spit and went unconscious a few seconds later. She jumped off his stomach and walked towards Aizawa. She reached out her hand and smiled genuinely,"I was wondering if you wanted to be my friend? Both of you." She looked at the blonde haired kid too. They both grabbed her hands and smiled with two different energy levels. She nodded her head and then walked over at Enji,"What are you doing?" The blonde asked. She crouched down and lifted Enji's body with her powerful legs. "What do you think I'm doing? I'm taking him to the nurses room." The blonde haired kid ran towards her worried. "But when he wakes up, he'll kill you." She smiled warmly at him, his heart melted instantly. "I highly doubt he will manage to hurt me at his current level." Aizawa went to follow her,"You sure you don't need help?" She put him over her shoulder and stood up carefully. "Nah, this is nothing." She walked past everyone and down the hall. The teacher's froze in place and their hearts sunk down in their stomachs. Aizawa and Yamada ran after her and she turned around to see them panting heavily. She set down Enji on a medical bed and set down a chair outside of the room. "I'm waiting here until he wakes up. What are you guys going to do?" They both finally regained their breath. "Hero Studies is next. Are you sure you want to wait for that brute and miss class?" Ask the blonde haired kid. She crossed her arms and legs. "What's your name?" He gulped hesitantly as soon as he made eye contact with her animalistic eyes. "Hizashi Yamada, and you are Evelyn Jasmine?" She nodded her head and smiled genuinely at him. "Yes, that's me. He was nice to me, maybe because he had a ulterior motive. But still, I consider him my first friend here. Aizawa you are my second, and Yamada you are my third friend since coming to Japan." She heard Enji groaning in pain. "It seems the beast is awake. You two should leave, tell the teacher that we will be to class late." They both sprinted away shaking in fear. She stood up and sat down on the opposite bed with her tail swaying behind her back. He sat up slowly, he opened his mouth and a few gummies landed gracefully on his tongue. He opened his eyes to see the new girl. He went to stand but she used her gravity quirk. He was forced to sit down. "Hey what's this? Are you a sore loser or something?" His eyes widened at her blunt words. "What?" She smiled happily at him. "I said earlier if I won you be my friend and rival. You thought that strength alone could defeat me. Unfortunately my quirk uses the strength of my enemies against them." She hopped off the bed and pointed at her and his mind. "The user's willpower of the heart and determination of the mind is what can break through the effects of my quirk." She placed her hand on his chest were his heart is,"You are struggling with yourself. You are alone, aren't you?" His eyes widened in surprise. "Get away from me!" She felt her hand burn up, she tackled him and held him close. "So am I, you aren't alone anymore. Your goal is become the number one hero right?" His eyes widened as she wasn't shaking uncomfortably in fear but in pain. She was burning up by his flames but was still comforting him. "My goal is similar to yours. I want to become strong enough to protect others and make them feel happy. Will you please calm down and give me some of the your burdens' weight. I help carry you through the dark and bring you back into the light!" He hugged her back and extinguished his flames. Her wounds produced steam, she pulled away and smiled genuinely at him. "Are you alright now?" His eyes widened at her body, it was steaming and covered with burns. "Me? But you are hurt?" She ate a few healing gummies. "Let's go Todo-kun." He stood up and went to complain. She swiftly mounted up on him and locked eyes with him a few inches away. "I heal faster than most people. And we are late for class. Don't talk back to me, and hurry up." He gulped hesitantly nodding silently. She dropped down and smiled happily. "Great! You can call me Eve, since we are best friends now." She rushed out of the room with him following her hesitantly trying to process what was happening. She looked back to see him zoning out. She wrapped her chain tail around his wrist and pulled a little to get his attention. His eyes shot open to see her tail moving on its own. "If you are thinking about my tail, then I should say that i does anything I desire. It's like another part of my body. It made out of my own blood, but colored black because of my hair color." She retracted her tail and slowed down a bit. "Todo-kun, do we have hero costumes yet?" He shook his head,"They arrived next week." She smiled happily,"That's good!" She grabbed his right hand and pulled him as she ran towards the door that led outside. She let go of his hand and smiled at the feeling of the sun on her skin. "We are here, teach!" She ran towards the others, she smiled at Aizawa and Yamada. Enji approached everyone and they all held their breath and avoided eye contact. "Don't mind Todo-kun from now on. He's going to be a good boy." She punched his right arm, laughing. The whole class prepared for him to hit her but nothing happened. He glared at her and reached out. She smiled warmly at him and he froze in place as his heart rate spiked. He made his open hand into a fist,"I'm going to kick your ass and show you my mind is strong too." Eve gave him a fist bump,"Alright bet, you're on! Hey teach you can continue on with the lesson." He cleared his throat and went back to explain that they were all going to pick a sparring partner for this week and work in their hand to hand combat without using their quirks.

Everyone picked their friends and then that left Aizawa, Yamada, Enji and Eve. She looked at her three friends. Enji glared at the two slim build kids,"She's my partner, you damn weaklings." She poked him in the face with her tail. He looked down to see her with crossed arms and looking at him irritated. He got chills and shut up instantly,"Don't worry about him, he's still trying to break his habits of being a bully. You two seem to be nervous, why?" They look at her worried. "Ohh I see, you two have never thrown a punch or a kick at someone before?" They both nodded their heads silently. "Todo-kun, I'm guessing you know everything about everyone in this class. Regarding their quirks."  He nodded his head. "Kayama has a body oder quirk that puts people to sleep except for herself. Ken can control concrete..." She pointed at him,"Stop right there. What does he look like?" He pointed at the block of cement. She ran over at him and exchanged some words. He nodded his head and created a thick concrete wall for her punch. "Thanks, Ken-kun." He blushed lightly and returned to his fighting partner. "Okay dokie let's get this lesson started." She took a step back, shifted her weight and struck the concrete wall with all her raw strength.
