Felix liked his life to be simple, an easy to follow routine that would keep him grounded. There wouldn't be one once he was left to navigate life outside of the convent. It would be easier if he was a commoner- no, not easier but simpler if he were in the lower class. Royals never knew what easy meant.

"Felix it is time for supper. Wash up." The nuns of the Port-Royal convent were always on the dot, strict and anything a second too late is unruly. Felix always wondered how they expected punctuality when everyone on the land was under the age of 18 and most likely born here, never going anywhere except this small little town in the south of New Levanter (Felix always thought they were ridiculous when learning about convents in school. Why kick a child out as soon as they turn 18 and expect them to live properly out in New Levanter's mess of a structure.)

After supper, the little kids usually ran around causing a ruckus in the courtyard, running through the elaborate fountains and giggling as Sister Jihyo scolded them with an amused smile on her face. Felix couldn't help the light warmth that settled in his chest and the fondness that blossomed through him when looking at that sight. Those children felt like his children. Looking at their big smiles he realized it would be hard to say goodbye to them in 3 months when he turned 18.

18 meant leaving. In 3 months he would have to step up and marry a once family friend and try and rule his country miles away from said country. In 3 months he would be Felix Lee I, Prince of Yellow Wood.

When the teenagers in the convent were able to leave the nuns' sight for once, all 13 of them retreated to the cafeteria to speak about trivial things. Trivial things such as if their family had sent them letters or news of courtship popped up, occasionally they talked about a new romance novel by their favorite author. Never did one of the teenagers stab another and flee sobbing out "sorry my king, I'm so sorry" over and over again.

At least not until it happens to Felix and in his disorientated, bloody mess catches hushed words from the nuns as they rush him over to the infirmary and suddenly he realizes what this was. Her words were rung in his head, surrounded him and suddenly this entire situation made sense. An assasination attempt. Him, the prince of a small country with very valuable goods that can only be found there was almost killed.

He realized three things at that moment: 1. Felix was no longer safe in the home he had lived in for 8 years 2. he would have to marry a prince for power 3. his country was in his hands once he left the convent. There was no way he was screwing this up.
