I run. I run so fast I can't feels my legs anymore.

"Get her!"

I turn around and see a group of guys gaining up on me. I turn my vision back and run into something... someone.

I fall on the ground, "Sorry! I'm so sorry!"

"Better slow down there... Why are you in a rush?"

I turn around and see the guys coming closer, "I can't talk right now I need to go!"

He furrows his eyebrows. He opens his mouth to speak but I take off.

I round a corner and hide inside an alley.. I'm breathing heavy right now. I back up into the alley until I hit the back wall.

I start to feel slight stinging coming from my left leg. I look at the blood dripping down my leg, "Shit." I curse.

I walk out of the alley slightly limping. Someone's arms wrap around my I scream but a hand covers my mouth.

"Shhh... you're ok Zayra I got you."

His hand lets go. I gasp for air, "Aaron."

He nods, "C'mon you aren't staying home by yourself again."

You're probably thinking why I live by myself... mostly. Well you see my parents are "rich." They barely pay attention to me. They just leave me money and a note saying they're on vacation or at work or something similar.

I nod in response, "Thanks Aaron."

"Hey mom?"

"Yes honey?" Aaron's mother replies.

"Zayra's here. Can she spend the night?"

"Sure! Why not?"

Also... his parents don't know about mine...

His father enters the room, "Hello Zayra."

"Hi Mr. Carpenter." I smile.

Aaron clears his throat, "Why don't I take you upstairs?"

I nod. I wrap my arm around his shoulder as he helps me up the stairs and sets me down on his bed.

"You should rest and relax that leg." he frowns.

"Thanks again Aaron."

"Hey, what's are friends for?" he winks.

I wake up by a flash going off. I groan and open my eyes seeing Aaron with his phone in his hands, "Were you taking pictures of me?!"

He laughs, "What? You're cute when you sleep!"

I blush. "Aaron honey! Matt's here!" his mom yells from downstairs.

"But I told him not to come!" he groans.

"Who's Matt?" School. One of the places I can hide from everyone except for them. I only talk to Aaron
But when he's around his friends I make up a lame excuse like, "I need to head to class." or "I have to go to the bathroom."

"Uh he's-"

"Aye Aaro- Who's this?"

Aaron turns to the brunette boy, "This is Zayra."

He nods, "I'm Matt. Nice to finally meet you. I've seen you around school."

I half smile, "Hey."

He turns to Aaron, "Dude! Did you hear that Nash, Cam, and Taylor ganged up on a girl?"

My eyes widen making me look at the ground.
