Breakfast time at Ever After High meant that Cupid was once again dragging Thalia into the Castleteria for food. Although Thalia came reluctantly, she had a minuscule smile on her face as she watched her girlfriend happily munch on food.
The pair sat happily at their table alone as their peers bustled around them, ready for another day of school.
Apple White cleared her throat at her place on one of the balconies overlooking the main seating area. "Excuse me!" she called to the student body. No one heard her. Sighing, she brought her fingers to her mouth and whistled.
That got people's attention. "As editor of The Gryphon, our beloved school newspaper, I am pleased to announce that I'm doing a special feature! The theme is: A Time of Wonder!"
Thalia, who had been absentmindedly stirring her bowl of porridge, suddenly looked a lot more interested. After the fiasco at the Spring Fairest, Wonderland became a subject of interest for her. The real Storybook of Legends was there, after all.
"It will feature stories about Wonderland and all the students from Wonderland who are here now," continued Apple.
"Well, I think Apple's idea is awesome!" said Faybelle Thorn as she appeared out of nowhere and waved her pom poms around. She then discarded them and flew up to Apple's side.
"Thanks, Faybelle," said Apple with a sweet smile. Then, she did a double take. "W-wait? You do?"
"Sure. 'Cuz it'll give you a chance to rehash how these Blunderland Brats got stuck here in the first place." answered Faybelle. Thalia's eyes narrowed dangerously at the insult. Faybelle felt a shiver down her spine as Thalia's menacing gaze pierced through her.
"-Thanks to Raven's mom: The Evil Queen, I might add," she continued, pulling out a Mirrorpad and turning it on. When she pressed a button, a recording of the Evil Queen's laugh blasted into the room, terrifying almost everyone.
"I like your evil laugh much better," Cupid whispered to Thalia while sipping on her drink.
"Thanks, I do too," she whispered back, unperturbed by the cackle that resonated through the hall.
"Hey, that's not fair!" yelled Raven indignantly and rushed to the center of the room. "It's not my mom's fault that Wonderland is sealed off from Ever After!"
Everyone just stared at her.
"I mean, okay, maybe she poisoned Wonderland's magic and sure, because of her Wonderland is even topsy-turvier than before-"
"Raven" said Thalia, clearing her throat. "Please stop talking before you say something you regret."
"That is advised," boomed Headmaster Grimm from behind her. "You should head back to your seat, Ms. Queen." Thalia's eyebrows furrowed at the appearance of her Headmaster.
"As for the rest of you," he continued. "Understand this: The Wonderland Curse is dangerous! No one must be allowed to have contact with that world for any reason!" He thundered angrily. "It has been sealed off for your own good!" He turned and started walking away.
"Oh, oh, oh! Headmaster Grimm!" Apple bounced on the balls of her feet excitedly and scurried after her teacher. "Actually, as part of my article for The Gryphon, I was hoping to ask you about the curse and what exactly it-"
"Enough!" Headmaster Grimm stopped her by raising his hand. "The worlds must remain separate, and that is all you need to know."
The strumming of a biwa was heard and Thalia appeared, leaning casually on the tree trunks framing the entrance of the Castleteria. Her eyes glowed in contrast to the shadows she was covered in.
