Y/n

My leg bounced furiously under the table, making me shake entirely. I placed a hand onto my knee and took a few deep breathes. I felt as if I might cry. I got up and paced my room a couple of times to try to calm myself. My hands were fidgeting with my pants and tearing at my finger tips and nails. I looked up to try and prevent myself from crying.

"Don't cry over something so stupid. Search up the answer on google dumbass." I mumbled to myself before I sat back down. I stared at the math paper and felt the tears stream down my cheeks. "Fuck.." I wiped my eyes furiously. I'm never going to understand no matter how fucking hard I try.

There were messy scribbles all over the paper, it was crowded and made it hard to focus. I wanted to tear the paper up, never think about it again.

Instead I picked up my phone and opened my messages.

My heart speed up at the thought Nick was telling Finn. He can't tell Finn, I'm not ready. Oh fucking shit. I wiped my never ending tears and tried to quiet my sobs. "Please don't tell him..." I whispered at my phone.

Finn

I was chilling on the couch with Nick and Quincy when Nick's phone buzzed. He pulled it out and handed the controller to me. "Who is it?" Quincy asked peeking at his phone. "Y/n," her name made my palms sweaty and my heart race but in a good way. "What's she want?" Quincy asked staring at the tv. "I don't know yet." I put on Fantastic Mr. Fox and sat back.

"Ask her if it's about Finn." Quincy pokes Nick. "Don't do that." I groaned at the two. "It's not, she needs help with something else." I became curious but tried to drown that out with food. It's not my place.

I walked into the kitchen and pulled out a bag of popcorn. I tore the plastic off and mindlessly threw it away. I tossed the popcorn into the microwave and started it.

I sat on the counter and rubbed my hands on my knees. I wonder what they're talking about... I wanted to see Y/n today but she said she couldn't because she had something. Why's she texting Nick? The popcorn popped in the background and I looked out the window.

Typical Canada, it's raining again. I found it soothing so I didn't mind. It will probably start snowing like it always does. Maybe I'd go over to
Y/n's house... It's like, 11:15 so I think she'd be okay if I came over.

The microwave beeped at me and I opened it, carefully grabbing the bag. The room filled with the smell of popcorn and I got up to grab a bowl.

I opened the bag and dumped it into the bowl, shutting the microwave door. "Hey kiddo." My dad ruffled my hair and grabbed a piece of popcorn. "Hey, there's more for you to make." I snatched the bowl but grabbed another piece and tossed it at him.

"Finn, hang on..." I stopped and turned around to look at him. "So uh... I just wanted to talk about
Y/n." I slouched a little and leaned against the counter.

"I think she's really pretty and you two really like each other but I mean... We never had the talk." My eyes widened and I set put one of my hands over my face. "Dad! No! I already know about all of this! Please stop!" He sighed, "Jesus Christ..." I mumbled as I brought my hand away from my face.

"Okay, that's good. Anyways, be safe and make good decisions when you're with her Finn. Don't break that sweet girls heart." I nodded and he pat my shoulder. Does he really think I'd brake her heart?

I shook my head and walked back out into the living room where Nick and Quincy were freaking out. "Guys, shut up." I mumbled sitting down, I wanted to know what was going on. Nick and Quincy stopped talking and we all watched the movie. Occasionally, they would ask for popcorn but other than that there wasn't any talking.

Y/n

I laid in my bed, shaking. I've finished my math with no help but Nick stopped replying. I sniffled and wiped my eyes, telling myself to stop crying. "Nick's a good friend. He's not going to tell Finn." I whispered into my pillow.

I slowly got my breathing under control and now I was just staring at the ceiling. It was noon so I can take a nap. I got up and shut my door and blinds, making it as dark as possible.

I laid back down in bed and wrapped my soft covers back over me, closing my eyes. Sleep was the only way I knew to escape my problems. I could feel myself slipping away slowly, all of my anxieties silenced.

Finn

I can't stop thinking about Y/n. I want to go see her now. I got up and handed them the bowl, "I'm going to hang with Y/n." Nick nodded, "Grab an umbrella." I turned around and walked to the front door. I grabbed an umbrella and my shoes. I quickly put my shoes on and walked out, opening the umbrella as quickly as possible. My curls don't deserve to be rained on today.

I arrived at her house twenty minutes later, my shoes soaked. I knocked on the door and listened as footsteps approached. The door opened and Mrs.
Y/l/n smiled warmly. "Hi Finn." I nodded and waved to her. "Hi Mrs.Y/l/n." We stood there awkwardly for a minute while I fiddled with the, now closed, umbrella. "She's in her room." I thanked her and slipped my shoes off, setting them by the door. I gave her mom a little hug before jogging upstairs.

Her door was closed so I knocked lightly on it. When there was no answer, I opened it to see if she was there. I could see her figure in bed, slowly rising and falling.

I stepped in and shut the door, approaching her. I just wanted to get in bed with her. So I did. I don't mean to be a creep but she just seemed so peaceful. I stared at her ceiling, waiting for her to wake up. She shifted and rolled over. "Finn?" Her morning voice was so cute.

"Hey... I just wanted to know if you finished that thing." She sat up and leaned her head on my shoulder. "Yeah, sorry... I was going to call you but I got tired." I nodded and bit my lip. "What... What was it?" She inhaled deeply, "Just trig homework. If you wanna check it it's over on my desk." I shook my head and slowly moved my hand towards hers.

"Is that why you texted Nick?" She nodded, "Yeah, he didn't tell you?" I shook my head. "No, he didn't." She sighed and I felt her hand slowly start to move. Our pinkies lightly touched and I placed mine over hers, pulling her hand closer. We didn't say anything, nothing needed to be said. Finally, I grabbed her hand and she grabbed mine. "Would you want to go on a second date?" I asked, my body flooded with anxiety.

She sat silently caressing my hand. I closed my eyes and scolded myself for being so stupid. "Yeah, I'd like that..." I started to smile and leaned my head onto hers. She said yes. I'm not going to brake her heart, no matter what.
