Alice Marie's POV:
It was obviously true, songs usually took me at least a few weeks to write, but for some reason this one was done within days. As soon as I got the first few lyrics everything just flowed, and I couldn't be happier.
The song, Diet Mountain Dew, was exactly what I wanted it to be. It felt upbeat, like you'd listen to it in the summer, and the lyrics were pretty happy, too. It wasn't an ultimate 'kidz bop' but that would be Stephanie's problem, not mine.
For the first time in a while I actually felt pretty good; I finished the song, the MET gala was in a few days and my dress was to die for, and the weather finally showed some signs of spring. It felt as though I'd been living in winter for years and it was finally time the sun broke through and warmed everything up again.
Determined to not let anything ruin my mood I called I decided to text some friends, Ash wasn't currently in the U.S. and Liz was busy filming, but I knew Tom and Z should be around town.

Alice Marie's POV:
The ten minutes leading up to Tom's visit to my apartment were spent trying to shove as many clothes as possible back into my closet and frantically trying to put away as many dishes as I could. My apartment was a mess.
Then I heard the knock and I knew he was here, I had known Tom and Z for a while now, I was a few years older than them but it didn't matter to me, and didn't seem to matter to them either.
"Hi!" I said, rushing to give Tom a hug and let him into the apartment.
"Hey, how's it going?" He asked, he looked around at the mess I hadn't cleaned up yet and laughed.
"Don't you dare laugh at my mess, I've been rushing to do a thousand and one things, and haven't found the time, or willpower, to do anything. And I'm doing fine."
"Mhm, right. Are you all set for the MET?"
"Almost, I think I have everything covered, and how about you? Anything exciting you can tell me?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant and not like I was fishing for hints about his new Spiderman movie.
"Ah Jeez, I know where this is going," He laughed again, a little less carefree this time, probably because he was scared to spoil anything by accident, "wait I have an idea. What if... We trade secrets?"
"Trade secrets? What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, the only time your apartment is this messy is when you've been working on music, so... let me listen to your new song and I'll tell you a secret about my new movie." he smiled mischievously, knowing this was an offer I, a hardcore Marvel fan, couldn't refuse.
