running beyond all expectations

"And you're really sure you want to come with me?" Maya asked her girlfriend sympathetically, rubbing small circles over Carina's back.

"mmh- yes...am almost up" Carina mumbled tiredly into Maya's chest and pouted when she heard her chuckle.

"I still can't believe you are voluntarily going on a run with me" Maya said as she slowly sat up, carefully removing Carina from her chest as she got up.

"i'm full of surprises what can i say?" Carina yawned with a grin as she slowly sat up as well "plus you look hot when you workout" she added, winking at Maya which made the blonde blush a little.

Carina put on a pair of Maya's running shorts which were equally short and loose on her but she loved wearing Maya's clothes nonetheless. She wrapped her arms around Maya's waist from behind and placed a soft kiss against her neck "Your tight workout clothes are doing things to me" she whispered in the blonde's ear and smirked.

"You should see me without them" Maya quipped back, giving Carina's arm a little squeeze before she freed herself from her grip. "Come on, let's go baby".

Maya and Carina started at a slow pace, Maya even wondering if she had ever went that slow. Probably not. She ran beside her girlfriend for a few minutes until she saw her smirk "Let's go faster" the brunette challenged her, and with that she took off.

Maya quickened her pace a little confused but sped up nonetheless, following Carina and catching up within a minute.

"See bella? I told you i'm really good at everything" Carina smirked back at Maya before inhaling sharply as she needed more air.

Her attempt to catch her breath definitely didn't go unnoticed by her girlfriend "I can see that but we definitely don't have to go that fast babe" Maya said softly as she looked over to Carina.

"Yes we do, i want to show you how quick i am" Carina said stubbornly, desperately wanting to impress her girlfriend. She was slowly running out of breath and her body was starting to ache but she noticed Maya didn't even break a sweat yet which made her run even faster.

"Car- baby, slow down please" Maya shouted after her, sighing as she sped up again.

Carina looked back at Maya for a second, seeing the concern in her eyes but she didn't want to stop, not until Maya was getting out of breath too.

She continued until her vision started to blur and she suddenly came to a halt, leaning forward and breathing heavily.

Maya immediately noticed how she stopped and ran over. "Baby? Are you okay?" She asked softly, wrapping her arms around Carina's hips from behind just as she felt her go limp.

"Oh shit" the firecaptain cursed herself as she quickly picked Carina up bridal style, slowly lowering her on the bench next to them.
"Carina? Hey open your eyes for me" Maya said, crouching down next to her and rubbing over Carina's flushed cheek.

A few seconds passed, which to Maya felt like an eternity until Carina's eyelids fluttered and she slowly came to. "What? Why?" She mumbled incoherently until Maya shushed her.

"Hey shhh baby breathe you're okay" She said, wrapping her arms around Carina's torso and helping her in a sitting position.

"You fainted but i've got you, just take deep breaths for me sweetheart" Maya whispered as she sat behind her.

"I'm sorry...." Carina whispered as sh leaned her head back against Maya's chest. "I just wanted to impress you" she said quietly.

"Oh babygirl... i'm impressed with you all the time, you are incredibly smart and sexy and beautiful and funny and i certainly don't expect you to run as quick as me" Maya sighed.

Carina smiled a little at her "That means a lot, thank you..." she whispered and sighed a little "Can we continue? I feel better" she said softly, tilting her head back to meet maya's eyes.

"If we go at your actual speed, sure" The blonde replied, placing a kiss on Carina's head and then got up with her, taking her hand and starting to jog slowly, the Italian following.
