"Father, I will make you proud. I have failed you on many occasions, but this girl is the one. I plan to cross her over to our side and we will be a powerful team. She's different than the others, she's better. I feel the connection. She shall be ours." Mitch left the portrait of his father and went to talk to Maria. "You're finally awake." Mitch grinned."Mitch, I'm not sure what you think you're doing but uncuff me." Maria said, trying to break the cuffs. "I don't think that's a good idea, the cuffs have been specially fitted and you can't escape them, not without the key anyways." Maria's eyes opened widely, she was speechless. "Specially fitted? How on earth-" She started but Mitch quickly interrupted her. "Too many questions, I talk you listen, understood?" Mitch had a deadly, aggressive tone, Maria decided to argue. "Mitch, I don't know what's gotten into you but I need you to-" Mitch stood up, angry. He stormed over to the drawer where he pulled out some tape. "I didn't want to do this." He said as he taped Maria's mouth shut. He sighed and started talking, glad to have no interruptions. "You are going to stay here, or suffer the consequences." Maria shivered, this was all too weird. Mitch gently removed the tape and sat down, ready to listen. "What are the consequences?" Maria asked, Mitch sighed. "You don't want to know." Maria bit her lip nervously. She wasn't sure what to choose. "Mitch I want to see my family.." Mitch seemed a bit sympathetic. "No, I'm afraid that's not going to happen. Your family think you've died, I've made sure of it." Maria gasped. She was shocked. A wave of sadness washed over her. Mitch grinned, "Guess you'll have to stay!" Although she didn't want to, Maria nodded silently. She had nowhere to go, nobody to turn to. Mitch removed her handcuffs and helped her up. While Mitch turned his back to put the tape in the drawer again, Maria darted out of the bedroom and ran to the oak doors where she entered. They were locked, as well as every room in the house. Maria slumped onto the floor is defeat, she heard Mitchs' quick steps. He dragged her back to the room and cuffed her again. No matter how hard she fought, Mitch was too strong. "Maria! I thought you understood. You will not be leaving nor going anywhere without me. You can stay cuffed until you understand!" Mitch slammed the bedroom door, infuriated. Maria stared sobbing, she missed her family, her friends and her life. After a long time, Mitch returned with her dinner. She ignored him and didn't respond to his attempts at chat. She was furious. Mitch started getting angry. He yelled at the top of his voice, "Talk to me damn it!" Maria was startled. She didn't speak. Mitch stormed out, slamming the door behind him. Maria sighed, "What was wrong with that boy?" She muttered. A little time passed, she got terribly bored. Mitch returned, ready to uncuff her. "You ready to be uncuffed?" Mitch asked, Maria modded eagerly. After a tour of the house, Mitch left Maria in the mansion to explore while he went to the store to buy food for her. Maria wondered why he hadn't any food but decided to just leave the topic alone. She didn't want to be cuffed to the bed again, she didn't know if she could survive that solitary again. After turning a few doorknobs she found herself in a large sitting room. There were leather couches, a fireplace and shelves upon shelves of books. Maria ran her find along the books, she loved books. The curtains were shut, they were big red satin curtains with ropes to tie them back. She decided it might be best to leave them alone and noticed the portrait above the fireplace. It was of a lady, such a beautiful one too. She had the longest, black hair Maria had ever seen and had blood red lips. The woman was wearing a red dress which a long, black cape covering her shoulders. As Maria stared at the portrait, she noticed something odd. The woman had two little red dots on her neck, they looked like bites."Must be some sort of insect bite." Maria thought, walking away to examine the glass ornaments on the mantelpiece. She picked up a little glass bottle which was filled with what looked like red wine. Maria examines the little crystals, the little swirls and the ever so delicate patterns running through the glass. "Such amazing work.." she thought, a bit intrigued. Meanwhile, Mitch was driving home when he stopped by Maria's house.. or what was left of the house. Mitch smiled, people definitely thought Maria was dead. His gasoline and firelighter turned out to be great help. Mitch had thought about this plan so much, he even had emailed the teacher saying he was moving schools, as if to cover his tracks. As he turned the corner, coming into the stretching drive way, he saw a few kids on their bikes, desperately cycling to the house. Mitch laughed, "They must be here to see ghosts or other haunted things." His eyes turned red, as he pounded out of the car and tackled each and every child onto the ground. He eagerly bit into their necks, drinking their blood, licking his lips, thirsty for more. He threw the bodies and bikes into the bushes and quickly bustled into the house, locking the oak doors behind him. He found Maria, sleeping on one of the leather couches. He shook her awake, gifting her some food. She quickly ate, suddenly ravished. Maria was content, except for the fact she couldn't escape from here. "But maybe it wouldn't be a terrible thing." She sighed, boredom was kicking in. Mitch slipped quietly into the basement. He opened one of the coffins, and lifted out a blonde haired girl with aqua blue eyes. He opened his eyes wide and started whispering his commands, memorizing her. She was forced to obey, seeing as vampires controlled such powers.
